How to play my mp3 thru the factory HU?

The more I read here the more confused I get! In very simple terms, how do I play my MP3 through the factory head unit on an 04 FX4 with factory 6 disc?
Buying a new head unit is not an option!

if you want the AUX input with a 3.5mm jack and it did not come stock you hafto get this: http://www.logjamelectronics.com/piefrd04aux.html

you can go with the FM modulator but the sound will be horrible. sorta like listening to your music through a pillow.

i just installed the aux input and it sounds better then CD. not to mention the install in very easy. the hardest part is finding a constant 12v source.

Its an MP3 player. That converter is what I was looking for I think. When I ask my stealer about doing this he said my MP3 just plugged right into the aux. jack. When I told him I had no aux. jack I just got the deer in the headlight stare.
Thanks for the help.

So........if i were to do this mod for ipod, would it disable my rear entertainment system. From reading the link provided, that is what i understand. What are people doing about this, i'd still like to leave the dvd player hooked up.
