Sonic Electronix Question

I bought a Kenwood DNX 7100 from them. Has anyone else bought this unit from them? The question I have do they leave the serial number on the unit itself? When they ship the box to you they put their own seal on the box stating they take out manufacturer warranty cards and that they provide the first year warranty. And that everything has to go through them. The reason I ask is it is already installed and a answer here may save me having to pull the unit out myself. Also because I want to buy a extended warranty for the unit just in case anything happens to it. But we all know what happens if you get a extended warranty and the serial number on the unit has been tampered with. Any help would be appreciated. Or if anyone has bought another head unit from them if you could advise.

Sonic is not and authorized seller in the fact that Kenwood WILL NOT honor a warranty if the unit is purchased from them. They do not conform to the agreement to sell at or near MAP pricing. They are a low-baller that is truly hurting this industry charging a few dollars over what they get them for. They sell high quantities so a few buck adds up I guess.

Any warranty this is done MUST be carried out through them.

Maybe too late---can you return it?

If you look atthe Sonic webpage for your Kenwood, it says, "1 year Sonic Warranty." As stated above, that is a dead give away that you purchased a gray market item. The warranty should be from Kenwood. Is there anyway you can return it?
