6 Disc Changer Quit Working

yesterday a buddy of mine was listening to a cd and was going over some bumps and his radio said no cd and quit playing cd's. Now it wont spit the cd's out or play them but the radio will work. What is going on?

Try resetting the power supply on it. Sometimes the stock units freak and if you take away their power it will settle back down...

I've got a similar issue with my '05 S/Crew. Was gone for a few days and forgot to turnoff the XM Radio in the truck. Six days later the battery is pretty dead. I know, stupid on my part, but that's neither here nor there now. Anyway, recharged the battery, but now the unit gives me a CD Error and will not play or eject any of the cds. I pulled the fuse to reset it. It tries to shuffle the discs, but then comes up with the error again.

Any ideas? Hopefully the solution is the same for both of these problems.

take the - off the battery and hold it to the pos for abt 5s. then reconnect it. That should work.

Don't know if it applies, but I've heard that if you use smooth burned cds in these decks they can get jammed. Something about the deck not being able to "grab" the cd to shuffle or eject it.

i had the same problem w/my '05 cd changer. went to dealership, figured they would change it out...was kinda wondering how i'd get my cd's back. as it turn out..they remove the radio & someone that does radio work for them repairs them as needed. got tired of hearing the clicking evey time i turned the truck on. took radio out myself opened it up & found out a cd became dislodged. removed all but one cd(couldn't get it out) plugged the radio back in...cd popped out & slipped it back in. been working ever since. couldn't stand to leave at dealer for xx amount of day(s). hope this helps. gg
