To Metra's defense however, they are some kits that they make that are quite nice. Not only that, I don't know if they make several version for one specific car, but when I had my Focus, there was that they made that look like donkey crap and the other just looked cleaner. The Scosche unit I got from Crutchfield was the best looking one I had for the Focus. It looked very similar to the ones above.

 

Got my stuff from Crutchfield today, fast shipping once again. The dash kit is a Metra and I can't say anything bad about it, it is actually very nice and alot more sturdy than what I am used to. Looks identical to Tardman91s unit. Now I just have to wait on my other harness to arrive and I can put it in. I accidentally left the harness coming out of the Alpine on the garage floor when I took it out of the Ranger and ran over it and crushed it...lol...it was a bad day all around. Crutchfield didn't have any so I had to order one from another place. Like I said, my Sirius box is already installed and everything is ready to go besides that. I did a "dry run" and put it in the truck for a minute and it looked nice. Ford makes it difficult to remove that center trim peice. How many different wire harness connectors are there? I think they used them all on that one peice.

 

here is my single din install. i have the jvc kd-ar870 with the sirius tuner..i have had it for over a year and love it. i wouldnt mind upgrading to the jvc kd-nx5000 with built in navigation..but i will have to wait until i can afford the upgraid..

 

Got mine in the other day and looks great. Took a couple of washers to shim out the dash kit to get it flush with the radio bezel peice but it looks good now. I noticed that an airbag light on the dash came on yesterday and I was thinking "great, what the hell is wrong with my new truck" but I found that I had not clipped in the "passenger side airbag off" light harness completely on the radio bezel and that fixed it right away. It is great to have my Sirius and Ipod back and the sound quality in the truck is much improved even with the stock speakers still in. I'll probably put better 3-way speakers in later on. I have my Sirius antenna on the passenger side dash and it works great and doesn't look too bad since I hid the wire. The one I have is really small so it doesn't look very noticeable and is black so it blends in with the dash. Will save a spot of paint from getting ruined on the roof.
