Just a question for those in the know... does the 6 disc player from '05 and '06 fit the 'o4 with a single disc head unit?

 

Yup. Plug and play. The only thing you will want to look at is the number of connections on the back of the player. If it has 3 connections - this is the audiophile unit and will not sound as good if you aren't going to be running the sub. So your best bet would be to go to the classifieds or ebay and pick up a non-audiophile head unit. There's one listed today for $100 in our classifieds.

Only other thing, if you have steering wheel controls, they will act differently with an 05-06 head unit. The controls seek from station to station rather than just jumping between your presets in the 05-06.
