Well, I finally got around to yanking out my head unit yesterday to check it out. I was hoping that the aux input port would be open, and that somehow the line-in from the tray would have its own connection. No such luck. Now I need to either disconnect the input from the tray to wire my XM to the port through a PIE, or leave the aux out from the XM in plain sight outside the dash and connect it to the tray.

What's strange is that the plug going into the aux connection at the head unit had like 6 or 7 wires. What the heck else would be wired to it there? I would assume the wire from the tray jack to maybe be 2 wires at most.

Hey, XLT-FX4

Can you take some pics of your aux wiring from your dash tray and where it ties in to the wiring harness.

The rest of the aux wiring into the head unit may be prewiring for DVD.

Thanks

Keep in mind I went from stock 2004 Audiophile without sirius, to the new 07 Factory NAV unit, with the Factory Sirius tuner added and currently the AUX line in works but using the PIE adapter. So you other 04's out there can do this too!
When you installed your nav unit did you have any problems reinstalling the
trim panel?

Is there a thread with part numbers on the OEM Nav? This particular one is sweet!

Is there a part # on the little 1/8 in connector? If so, can we get it.

I am looking for the same thing too... if I had one sitting in front of me, I would OHM out the cables and wire it in myself. I am just going to wire in a 3.5mm female jack in for my Sirius unit.

There are four wires running to the AUX adapter in my 07 so i haven't figured out how to attach it to my Avic D3 yet.

I saw at best buy, Dual makes a connector that is flush-mount, so it looks relatively OEM, kind of like the one in the tray... just accepts an aux-in plug like the one in the tray. That could help some people...

[/QUOTE]

I have an '05 w/ factory sirius from ebay and a harness from a local dealer. I have an extra 16 pin female plug w/ male terminals. is this for the '07 input tray?
and is the '07 stero any different?
when i hit the "aux button" my deck goes from sat1, sat2, sat3
does the '07 have an "input" or something after those?

how does it know the ipod or whatever is there? what does the stero need to be on to play from the aux?

Has anyone got this tray hooked up to an 05 HU and working? Is there a part number for the cable to go from the HU to the tray? I'd like to be able to hook one up and keep everything stock with no cutting.

Here is what I did....

I'll take some pictures if I remember. I bought a PIE adapter. Installed it. Now my aux button works on my '05 Single cd HU. Got the Tray. Took the connector thing off and drilled through the center of the connector. Then, I slid my own 3.5 mm extender cable in it and epoxy'd the crap out of it. I now have my cable sitting in the "factory plug" without having to figure out how to mount the stupid thing in the hole. It's a gold radio shack cable, but I could care less. It looks completely factory.

Actually, I remember when I tore mine out, that 2 of them are the same thing. they just do that to mess with you. As to which one has 2, I have no idea. there is no way a TRS connector could have 4 cables or connection points.

Well I have a picture from the wiring diagram that shows the audio input for you... but... well, photo bucket won't allow scalable graphics to be uploaded.

Anyone needs it just let me know and I'll send it to your email address.

Cynder, I would like the pic also. I have purchased a 3.5 jack (flush mount) with 3 wires connected (used for a computer) left, right and ground. I plan on attaching the 3 to the cd changer control jack of my 07 with a plug I got from walmart. The right connections would surely be helpful.
