how to take the dash apart to replace head unit

here's a really retarded question,,,,,how do you take the dash apart to replace the stereo, i have been doing stereos for awhile but nothing this new......2004 F-150......also how to replace the speakers,,,,,pics would be great to if you can.....can you use the factory sub still when you replace the head unit......

Speakers i believe your remove the door panels, and you gotta made two U hooks out of like a coat wires and stick it into the holes on the stockheadunit, push them to the sides ( left goes left, right goes right ) and pull it out. As far as installing, idk never did a sound system.

I just went through the replacing the HU on my 06 F150. I bought a Ford tool on e-bay for 5 bucks that essentially looks like a large plastic tongue depressor that is used to simply, and slowly, pry up the cover from around the HU. There are clips that slide into place to hold it in place. Looks simple when you have it apart. I only bring this up because you may not have the same setup that Mister B shows in his Pix with the ashtray. Mine did not have the same pullout ashtray like his. ( Looks like he has the King Ranch or HD and he did a great job on the photos... ) Good luck…..
