I still have the stock HU in my truck but recently it started acting weird.
First it would play then just shut off and say reading disc then it would eject the cd and say Bad Disc, well after i shut the truck off i came out the next morning and it played for a few minutes then shut down and did the same thing, now it doest play at all instead when you try to play a cd it says reading disc then ejects it and says bad disc. Is it just shot or what?
Its a 6CD MP3 head unit.
What should i do?

The HU probably has a fault with the power supply or laser pick-up. Nothing you can do about it. If the truck is still under warranty, take it in to the dealer and have the HU replaced. If not, do a Google search. I've seen a few places that repair them for a flat fee, usually around $89.

 

Easy fix, buy an aftermarket unit, love mine. Ha ha If it does this now it's only a matter of time before the display craps out too, so if it's covered, have them worry about it. If not, buy a good aftermarket and you won't be sorry.

 

I dont want an aftermarket HU, i just dont like the look, i know they are way better and stuff i just dont want one.

anyone know what that is?
Im taking the truck in tuesday...the truck has 38190miles on it lol but i had the HU replaced at 31k miles and they have a 12 month 12k mile warranty on any work they do so would that be covered or no?

According to my book, B2965 is a speaker fault. That really doesn't jive with the problem you're having. If the HU was replaced at 31K under warranty, chances are any warranty it did have expired when your truck hit 36K. Depends how generous your dealer is.
