JL Cleansweep

Finally got the JL Cleansweep installed. Amazing the sound difference. Cleansweep accepts virtually any analog audio signal, from low-voltage line-level to high-power, amplified speaker-level, via its four differential-balanced inputs. With totally automatic level compensation, CleanSweep then converts the two or four connected analog signals to digital audio with 24 bit effective resolution.
For all those that want to keep the factory HU, this is the way to go. IMO anyways.

How much did the Cleansweep run you?

I've been thinking about ditching my LOC's since there is quite a bit of noise coming from them and using the Cleansweep. I'm sure it's pretty dumb to compare, but is there a significant difference between the LOC's and the Cleansweep? I know there's some sort of calibration CD you're supposed to use, then leave your volume control on your radio in one position and use the supplied volume ****/remote from the kit. Is that true? I'd be worried about accidently using the volume on the radio (out of habit) and messing with the calibration.

The cost all depends on who you get it from. Me...I went to the same dealer that installed my system. Probably figure alittle under $400, of course you can find it on the internet for alot less, but you loose your 1yr warranty. For convience I had him install it, plus the new ipod2car interface. I have it run into the center console for now till I find the right bracket im looking for. Want to mount it where the coin holder is to the left of the HU.

Thanks, but what about the volume ****, do you use the one on your radio, or is there one that's attached to the Cleansweep via remote. I've read up on these on JL's website, and it mentioned something about this.

Its recommended that you do. Otherwise you sort've defeat the purpose of the cleansweep. Its not that big of a pain. I have the steering wheel controls too.

Huh, okay. Yeah, the $400 or so is pretty steep, but I'm really tired of the noise at low volumes. Oh, one other question, does it provide an amp turn on lead? I've got mine wired into my accessory, kinda sucks, but it works.

NICE SYSTEM in your truck! I browsed through your gallery, very clean, I really like you amp install. I'm really into the stealth look, lessens the 'window shopping' effect in parking lots.

Thanks for all the replies, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna pick one of these up.

PAC has a piece called the Trunk-Loc. Its a speaker lead to RCA invertor that gives you a remote out. It delays the amp turn on for a couple seconds after it sees voltage from the speaker leads so it doesn't give you the "POP" sound. Not nearly as nice as the JL piece but they only run about $15.00.

For the budget add-an-amp guy.

I dont know forsure.. I just have the ipod2car. Didnt need the adapter as I have the cleansweep installed. It just plugs into the cleansweep, and you dont need the other part to plug into the radio.
