Factory head unit repair

Anyone ever attempt changing the light bulbs behind the buttons on a factory deck? I got one that is burnt out but haven't tried pulling the deck apart yet

I would return it to the dealer. If you open the factory deck it would probably void the warranty.

I don't think there are any bulbs in there. It the whole LCD screen that goes out. I'd just buy an aftermarket deck.

Very common problem. I used to work for Broadway Radio Shop. They are an authorized Ford Radio Repair Center. I seen this issue mostly on the Taurus radios and the Dual Media CD/Cassette radios. Used to swap them for warranty or pull them for repair.

Contact Kelvin at Broadway Radio Shop and tell him Travis O'Brien referred you. 816-753-1960 I might even know of someone closer to you as well.

Or you could buy a upgraded replacement fairly cheap!
