Question for those with after-market head units

How did you like losing your steering wheel audio controls(those who had them) when you went to the aftermarket radio? Is the upgrade of the aftermarket unit worth sacrificing the steering wheel controls? I am at the point of either purchasing the factory 6 cd w/mp3 or going with the aftermarket. I am just a little reluctant to give up my steering wheel controls. y'all give me some input, please.

Thanks, tmanscrew

There are some adapters to make the OE wheel controls operate an aftermarket HU.
Try a google search, also try google newsgroups

A car audio store may have that info too.

if it comes with a remote you can lean over like the ricers and change stations from 6" away from the HU!

try this

as long as your new radio is remote ready you can still utilize your factory steering wheel controls. try looking into a company named... pac ....they make interfaces wich will allow you to tap into the steering wheel controls and then threw an IR repeater it transmites the signal to your radio. If i remember correctly the adaptor that might work is model (SWI-X)
