You must have better locally owned shops.

I have 3 one worked well with me when they put a new HU in my caravan.
But after that, nothing.

One has been around for a long time, but hires people that don't seem very competit behind the counter. I stopped to order wiring kits, explained what I wanted to the kid behind the counter a couple of times and he looks at me and says without rca outputs you can't hook an amp up, you will need a new deck. I laughed and walked out.

Next place good reputation, said he had to order them, okay I told him I wanted a set of Fosgate components for the doors,(in stock). Checked back 2 days later, they are on BO. gave him my phone number and checked back in a week, then in another few days. This was back in Sept or Oct.

I would like to add an amp, but am finding it difficult.

Depends on how you are going to run it. If you are adding amps, components, etc..., and not use stock speakers you don't need a wiring harness. Just make your runs from the HU (12v to batt, accessory to fuse box, remote to amps), to amp and back to the speakers. No harness involved.

Hmm i dont know how things are ran out there, but your experience with BESTbuy and CC may be a case pertainging to your town, but i for one know that best buy and CC have the harneses and dash kits in stock and you cant get an f150 wrong as in those terms.

Yes Circuit City and Best Buy have harnesses for your truck. It's only a matter if you want to splice anything. Bestbuy last time I checked did not have total plug and play harnesses. You had to splice all connections from the harness that connection to the factory FORD harness to the harness that connects to your Jensen HU. Circuit City requires no splicing which if you don't feel like doing that is good. I for one like to solder and shrink wrap stuff so I would get the best buy ones.

My guess about price would be about 40-50 bucks for both harnesses and dash kit for your truck.

you will need a kit and harness.
at my shop the kit goes for $20 the harness is $15 and install is $45 so it comes out to about $80 plus tax on parts......installing is very easy on your truck as well as wiring the harness, its collored match from the harness that comes with the radio to the harness you buy......your dash peice is one piece from the top of the dash down and it snaps off starting from the top corner down. then you have four bolts holding the radio in and then old units out.....screw in the new kit mount the cage, wire up the harness, slide the radio in, put the dash back on, and you done.
