Exclamation Crappy Cd Player

I have an 03 screw and am having a hell of a time getting cd's to play. I'm not surprised i can't play burnt cd's but I've put brand new never played cd's in and no luck. I have the 6 disc in dash unit, which I think is great, but it's starting to get annoying. Does anybody know if this is a common problem, and will Ford warranty it. I bought the truck used and it's got 75000KM on it now. Any help would be great,

Burnt cds should work fine. I have an 01 and there has never been an issue. It could be the type of media you are using or burning speed. As for pressed discs not working it may be a dirty lens in the player, try some canned air and blow it out.

hmm

Either that, or buy one of those cd lense cleaners from walmart, or any music store. As far as new cd's go, a lot of them lately have copy protection built in that older cd players have a hard time reading. Car head units are notoriously picky when it comes to what they will and won't play, so that could be the problem.

I've tried the cd lens cleaner and it won't even read that. I think I'll give the compressed air a try. Thanks for the input.
