BBE on Alpine CDA 9847?

Hey guys, I just got my Alpine CDA 9847 today, and will be putting it in the truck Tuesday. As I read the instructions I noticed that the unit includes a "BBE" sound option as part of the EQ. It gives the options of 0, 1, 2, and 3 as far as intensity. What is this setting and does it improve the sound of the head unit? Thanks for your help.

Its a bass boost....so the level of bass increases as the number goes up, aswell as the tone..If your runnning the stock speakers you prolly do not want it past 1 or the sound quality gets ****ty, if there good aftermarket components then this will be handy more, I had a alpine unit before and i kept the bbe on 1 and cranked the frequency of the treble up kept the bass down...It sounds best this way..good choice on the alpine by the way...

Hey thanks man, I'll have to experiment with that a little! It sounds great right now with it off. I'm running Alpine Type R 5x7s and it sounds very full as it is. The added bass would be very cool though. I love how much headroom I have to crank these before they start to clip.
