Just want to confirm that the subwoofer that comes with the Audiophile system will work with the Premium system. It's my understanding that all the wires are waiting under the rear seat. True? Also, how does that 8" driver sound? Not very big.

 

Just received a factory subwoofer from a Ford Dealer in Texas off the web and added it to my 6CD mp3 audiofile head I got off of Ebay. Its in my 05 Lariat supercab and the base is awsome. You can feel it in your bones. The wiring and plug can be found all taped up with the wiring harness just under the plastic threshold plate at the rear of the door frame. Just snap it up and tuck the plug and wire through the L shaped hole in the carpet under the seat. I know some guys talked a while back on this site not being able to find it but its there. I had a Sony system in my Ranger that cost twice as much and didn't sound half as good.

 

What dealership and what was the cost? I am in Texas and am having hell finding this part.

 

Do the tan trucks have tan boxes and the grey truck have black boxes or are they the same black box.

 

There is a couple of used ones on e-bay right now.

Where and what exactly is the "plastic threshold plate at the rear of the door frame"? Id like to check my truck but I have no idea what parts this refers to. Any pics or discriptions of what to look at would be greatly appreciated. Let me know.

FWIW - both my brother and I have '05 lariat SCREWS with the Audiophile system (his preimum/mine just the 6CD in dash unit) and both have the black sub boxes....
