Auidophile switch to Alpine CDA-9855 question

Hi all,
I currently have a 04 Lariat with the audiophile 6-disc system.

I'm finally going to get my ipod hooked up with the Alpine CDA-9855 and the ipod adapter. I've read many useful posts about many systems and that even the swap is an easy process. However, I'm going to have a pro installer do the job.

Here's my question... I read that it's a slam-dunk to continue to use the audiophile sub and amp, but my installer questions that this will be possible. Does anyone have any specific directions for the installer on how to hook-up the audiophile sub and amp to the 9855? I'd love to pass them along before the install appointment this Saturday. Thanks!

Another question... I'm not doing the swix now. How easy (or not) is it to do that later myself?

I put SWIX in a different car. The hook-up was quite easy once you figure out the instructions, and it works great. One suggestion now - while your installer is swapping the head unit have him tap into the steering wheel controls wire behind the radio and run a lead for you to use later with the SWIX. Just hide the lose end under the dash somewhere. That way you wont have to pull your HU later to get to this one wire.

The instructions that come with the SWIX tell you what wire to use. Maybe that info is available on their web site. Good luck.
