is the opening narrowed but just longer? or are they still a big oval shape the same width as the pipe, but just longer height wise? hard to tell from the pic
an easy way to make them with your stock tips is just take em off the truck, and either set them on the ground and run over them real quick, or put em in a vice and squeeze em down
i think it'll look tacky on a big truck IMO, but who knows. post pics if you do it

flat

Actually they are flat, (at the tips) with about a half inch opening from top to bottom. The sound they make is very unique. There is also another style that had shorter fins on both top and bottom.

Fepony,

I got 'em on mine. Just so happens that the "tails" end caps that come on the '97-'03 Harley FLSTS have the same connector OD as the ID of the H-D SCrew exhaust tip. It required me to cut back the exhaust tips about 3" with a band saw so tip is perp to the diameter (just where the leading tip is tack welded to the trailing tip). The trailing tip was cut proportinately, of course. The standard Harley chrome square drive hardware keeps 'em on just like on the twin exhaust (I have Samson/Kerker on mine). I will post a pic when I can get the driver for my Sony dig-cam talkin' to my PC through the serial! Need to be meticulously careful doin' this mod since the SCrew exhaust tip runs from $130 (aftermarket) to $219 (Ford)! Gotta get it JUST right the first time!!

I thought your handle might have been "FE" like the old shovelhead FEs! My handle? ... well, the license plate on my truck is: "R LEE". The license plate on my pan is: "RLEEPAN". The license on my Evo is: RLEESTS.

Fepony,

I forgot, the Harley part number for the STS tails is: 65245-92. They cost $45 a piece but what the heck! ... they're Harley! ... and I am sure you know what "H-D" truly stands for?! ... right?!!

They come without the baffle in them so there is absolutely no additional exhaust restriction and the SOUND? ... WOW!! ... well, you know THE sound!
