rear sliding window

I have a 00 F150 with the manual rear sliding window. I believe the HD comes with a power rear sliding window. Just wondering if I can turn my manual sliding window into a power one. What needs to be done for this mod. Need to replace window (how much), any kits (how much), buy the parts at a ford dealer (how much). I would really like to have the power sliding window. Any or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

03 is the 1st year that the HD's have a power rear slider. Not sure on kits and stuff though. I'd imagine it would be a little pricy though and alot of work. good luck though

I have an '02 and it is equipped with the power slider. I think it would be very expensive to retro an '00. It requires the harness, a different panel molding behind the back seat to accommodate the motor and the lower left dash panel where the switch is located (right next to the power pedals switch). IMO the cost would not justify the utility unless you open and close it all the time. Heck, I have only opened and closed mine a few times! (screws up the climate control brains lettin' ambient air in the cab!)

there are aftermarket power sliders available.

It usually requires replacing the whole rear window.

I don't know of any brands off hand, just that they are available.

I know they sell kits for the F150s to convert to a power rear slider, I can't help you with the site, but I think they were around $300 where I saw them (maybe more?)

Thanks 4 all the info Please keep it coming.
I open the window quite frequently due to the limo tint that I have all the way around and backing up at night can be quite a challenge when there's not enough lighting. I get too lazy at times to reach to the back to open it on my own so please keep the help coming if I see its going to be to much trouble or $$$ I guess I'll live with I got.

I just love the solid black look of the windows I can't give up the tint not even for a little lighter one.

Thanks for the replys

Well...here is an aftermarket rear sliding window.

Cost is $400 including shipping...you might want to call Ford to ask them if they could install the factory '03 HD power rear window...they might be able to do it cheaper.
