Is it just me that is disappointed by the new front lower valance? I was thinking of getting a 03HD but man that front valance looks fugly. Then again, the only one I've seen was a two-tone and it looks like a ricer's car with goofy aftermarket lower valance still in primer

Anyone have pics of a black 03HD?

Also, is it hard for short people to get in/out of 02HD? The seats look like they provide a lot of support but seems like it would be hard to get in/out without a real running board for shorter folks like my girlfriend. The 03 seats look flatter and maybe easier to enter/exit?

 

I personally like the two-tone interior but am not fond of the new lower valence or two-tone paint. I wouldn't consider the new lower valence FUGLY but it isn't as nice as the previous years. (Don't know why they changed it )

 

well, I didn't like the newly updated F150's when they 1st came out but now I love them, maybe the valance will grow on me, but not the two-tone. never been a two-tone paint fan (unless its racing stripes on the hood and decklid), nor a ride with black rims (except the Buick GN)

 

Nope, don't like the valance on the 03s either. Haven't seen one in person though. I guess it could look different in person.

As far as entry and exit, it is a little high but definitely easier than a regular f150 since the whole truck is lowered. Besides, the getting in and out is a small price to pay to have such a cool truck!!

 

No decision on the front end, yet. I do NOT like the interior at all. I will not consider buying a 2003 because of the interior. I have had some sort of Ford truck for 25 years and the '03 harley doesn't get it for me nor does the "Expedition like" '04's. I still don't like the latest version of the Expedition. I actually like the new Dodge Hemi better than the new Fords.

 

It's different but is ok for me. Now the seats logo and the black S/C that's another thing. Those I don't like at all. Looks cheap at least to me. Still these are the best looking trucks out there (Ls too).

 

I've posted quite a few pics of black 03's and ricekicker posted a few before also. just go back a few pages and read the titles of the threads, it'll say something about a black 03

as for entry and exit, just grab the o s*** handle and pull yourself in you could always use her hight as an excust for a 3/4 drop or something The driver seat is all power and it does adjust down and up. not a whole bunch, but it may help a little.

as for the ugly lower valance. i hate it. They just make it big and flat. there are no contours in it Just straight across, at least on the 00-02 valance it curved in and out, and the bottom came up. Its not even like they made the grille any bigger. just made the valance more boxy and squared the grille and fog openings off.
the other thing i don't like is the huge square glove box handle, and then the 2 toned steering wheel, cuz its only a different color on the bottom. looks a little weird. it hsould have the other color on top and bottom.

but still, i want a black AND 2 toned 03 HD. LoL. they are awsome!
still a little PO'ed. stopped out at the dealer today to see when they were getting the 03 two toned they had on order so i could just check it out, and they decided to cancell the order for it cuz it was taking too long! So they just ordered a black. they did the same thing last year. I really want to see the new color in person, and they order the plain black one. I like the black better, but would be nice to see the new color in person when they come out

 

Love the seats, hate the valance

 

Why would Ford put such ugly seats in our trucks. The best looking interior was the 2001. I was waiting for the 2003 until I saw the pre-production photos, so I snatched up our last black 2002.

Oh well, Ford will still sell them all.

 

Look at the vanence here. It appears to be the same as the 2002. Maybe its jus those pics it looks bad in, or maybe the two tone has a different valence.

good observation. that is a 2002 valance on that truck in the 360 view. my bet is that since its a computer image, they just photoshopped out the flames and put the silver stripe on instead. alot easier that way than a whole new video.

the black 03's and two toned 03's have the same exact lower valance. it just looks alot fuglier on the two toneds cuz it stands out alot more
