I'm now thinking about doing a 2"/4" drop. Any of you have this mod? The only thing I worry about is ride quality, what have you guys heard on this?

Back to the headlight mod...to get to the wiring panel do I still have to remove the switch from the dash? Sorry for all the questions...this is all new to me! I think I will splice in a remote switch while I'm at it, can't hurt anyway.

Any of you know a good connection for an MSD stacker 8? I can't seem to find one...everyone's backordered! I'm after the improved gas mileage I heard it delivers.

ricekicker, you can just file the switch but some guys don't want to cut the heat welds and take the switch a part and file down the collar (search the forum for the link to this with detailed pics if interested). I really didn't want to go through all that effort and possibly screw up the switch so I just spliced mine and got the affect I wanted.

SlyClive, yes you need to pop out the headlight switch from the dash. Be very careful because it is easy to break the clips or the dash. Use a small screwdriver. There are 3 clips holding it in.

Can't tell you much about the 2/4 drop. I did the 2" BellTech shackles on the back of mine and got the look I wanted without impacting ride or having to worry about scraping the front valance anywhere or bottoming out.

Are you talking about a true 2" front drop? or a 2" front drop kit? Cuz a 2" spring will only get 1" drop on the HD's. If you want a true 2" front drop and want to keep the stock ride quality, get the western chasis lower A arms. little more expensive, but they use the stock springs to keep the quality. a few L owners have them and are very happy with the results. As for the rear drop, you'll have a lot of bottoming out with a 4" rear drop if you don't cnotch or put in helper bags. if you only do 3" in the rear, you'll eliminate most bottoming out. with just 2" rear drop there's none.

Yes, there are 3 clips. get a thin screwdriver and put it in at the bottom middle, left center, and top right and the switch assembly should pop out

MSD stacker 8? I can't seem to find one.
you have a 02? not sure if it'll work cuz the s/c or not, but Rob had to sell his 01HD and has his listed in the classifieds.

Can't you just file it so you will be able to pull it out on auto and if you want you can push it back in? What does the splicing have to do with it?
I don't think it'll work cuz the wires for the fogs aren't hooked up to that lighting. I think you need to splice differnt wires for the autolamps though. For the fogs and parking lights its #5 and #12. Just filing the switch so it pulls out in any position will do just that, let ya pull hte switch out. ya need to splice certain wires to make it functional

Okay...I'm going to attempt the fog light mod this weekend, hope it goes ok!

Thanks for the input Harley...I'm going to do the 2" belltechs rather than dropping both front and rear. I still want the ability to put mxers in the back without bottoming everywhere.

As for the airbox mod, I think I'll just hold off and get a FIPK. It looks like JDM and JL both really know there stuff. Has anyone installed the full JDM stage 1 or 2 kits?

For now I'll just do appearance mods and work on performance later. Unless I can find a MSD stacker 8 anywhere soon, then I'll try that first.

not sure if this msd will work on the 02HD cuz the s/c or if that won't make a difference, but if you can find out if it will work, there is one in the classifieds. he had to sell his 01HD

Harley...I saw that add in the classifieds and I've emailed a couple times but I keep getting a return...the email address is in-valid. If you run into the guy let him know I'm looking and want some info on the stacker. Thanks.

Well...just finished the headlight mod! Just spliced #5 & #12 wires together and that was it, about the easiest mod I've done.

Now I'm drilling out the bottom of my airbox as a temporary mod untill I get a FIPK. Don't know if it will make much difference but it's worth a try.

Window tint is the agenda for tomorrow. Was going to Zaino today but rainy and cold so it'll have to wait until I get a good day...bummer!!
