2002 Speakers
Yes - according to my local sterio shop we have 4 6x9's - I was looking into upgrading and was to to change out the front two first before going to the exspense of changing all 4. I am still pondering the mods. It is hard to find a replacement head that will interface with the cd changer - let me know if you find one.
I am now confused. In the Speaker forum someone posted that Ford puts 6x8 in the Trucks. An installer at Best Buy just told me that all the Fords he has done are 5x7. Looking at the bill for the one I had installed in my old Truck they where a 5x7.
Anyone with a 2002 HD changed their speakers that can give me some insight here

I had my '02 HD stock speaker removed and Polk DX7 5x7 installed that used to be in my '01 4x4 SCrew. The stock from my HD are 5x7 since I just looked at them.

NO They are NOT 6x9s. They are in fact called a 6x8 which is just FORD speak for a 5x7 with a different bolt pattern. The speakers that fit are 5x7s, you may see speakers that advertise that they are both a 5x7/6x8, all that means is that it is a 5x7 with extra mounting holes set to the ford 6x8 pattern, if you look closely they have little parts that stick out more on the sides with the 6x8 mounting holes. ALL 5x7s will fit (width wise, some may be too deep but that will be rare), but you may have to drill new holes in the door plate to accommodate the standard 5x7 speaker holes, hope that helps. As for adding 6x9s, I do not know of any that fit without modification/adapters, but there may be some. You may have to cut out more metal in the door around where the 6x9 speaker would be.
