Check with Harley#356. I know he did his and it turned out really nice. Not sure how it holds up though. I'm pretty sure he will post a response.

I used a Aluminum colored spray paint that can take high heat, Cleaned the inside of the exhaust real well. Stuffed some paper towel deep inside the pipe then carefully started painting and spraying. Looked real nice for about 3 weeks than just get dirty again. It makes a big difference though.

I did it. turned out great! My truck was just underr 2 years old when i did it, and the inside of the tips were starting to pit and corrode a little, and in the back part, some surface rust was growing in there. What i did was sand down the inside of the tips too smooth them out and get rid of the little surface rust, then cleaned them out with alchol. Then since i am too afraid to get a spray can anywhere near my truck cuz overspray , and don't feel like masking everything off, i got a can of silver rustoleum paint. Used a foam brush, and got to painting. took about 5 minutes and both of them were done. It helps if you have a long handle on the cheapo foam brush if you can't reach your hand in the tips, or tape something to the handle to make it longer. You gotta paint all the way back, cuz the tips will look really clean afterwards, and you'd be able to see where you missed really easy.

7K miles later they are still perfect. No chipping or anything. The paint also like sealed the metal, so now any soot (what little there is) just wipes right out unlike before it took some work to get the inside all clean. Every once in a while i'll hit it with some polish or liquid glass and it still looks like brand new. Even if it lasts a year its worth it, but it's holding up perfetly fine still.

looks like how the tips were when the truck was brand new now

The duals look good coming out the rear. On my list of Mods as well but going with single tips. I was thinking of reusing the stock tips and just rerouting the exhaust at the muffler to the rear. I'm not looking to change the stock system, I just like the look better.

Got to do the tip painting though Definitely a good idea. One of these days when I'm bored.

The drop is a Bellteck system and used 3 inch on front and about 3 inch on rear with the full system.
