Good idea! I'm very happy with the truck, but there has been a couple of things wrong with only 4000 miles.
-fog light replaced because it was taking in water.
-rubber on brake pedal tore off yesterday.
-rust on the bracket holding the hood release

9500 miles, and while cleaning the backside of my wheels, I noticed that the weld holding the tailpipe to the muffler appears to have a leak.

Couple small issues with mine.

Build date 04/02 # 5209

Foglight replaced as the cheap plastic housing bracket broke

Beginning to hear thumping/knocking noise on right front suspension when braking/accelerating. Think this might be the issue discussed in a previous thread. I have not went to the dealer for this one yet.

Absolutely love the truck! Been away on business the last few days and find myself missing it almost as much as the family

Build # 7011 purchased 8/3/2002, 2150 miles on the clock.

1. Snowflake etching on the plastic over the gauges, I still need to bring it in.
2. Cheap leather
3. Paint drip on hood's edge, that got fixed by the dealer a week after I purchased the beast.
4. Rattle on the passenger side dash when I hit a considerable sharp bump. I'll bring that in also.
5. I wished the tires were 50 or 55 series, the San Francisco city streets especially cable car lines are very tricky to navigate with 20" rims.
6. Edit - The brake pedal rubber has been torn

5. PITA to keep clean! j/k

Why am I complaining, this is the best truck I have ever owned, ever

Build #09319, miles 2750. purchased 7/27/02

The only complant is the rubber on the brake pedal as somewhat torn away.
The rest of the truck seem very well built!
Here to it staying that way!

i bet ya's will have a problem with roof channel paint cracks down the road. its a pretty common problem.

my only other problems with my 00 that would relate to the 02's is cleap leather. had a little slit wear through, but they replaced it.

I had a problem with the rear window seal popping out, but the 02's have the redesigned seal, which the dealer put on my truck when i took it in for that.

1. Cheap leather
2. Snowflaking in gauge shield
3. Cheap paint
4. Paint scratches on delivery (still fighting dealer on this one)

I LOVE my truck despite these issues.

I currently have 7900 miles on my 2001 HD.

Problems:

I had it in for oil changes and the window stopped working and would only come down 1/4 way - It was like that for about 3 weeks and she repaired herself...It just started working again --- That's about it - nothing else has happened and she has treated me like I have treated her....with perfection

2002 HD Build # 4525 /// puchased July 5th 2002

2500 miles now,

-- 3 days after delivery, the moonroof broke, was stuck in open position.
-- 30 days after delivery Driver side fog light fell off.
-- Just noticed a paint drip on the hood last week while waxing.
-- Cheap leather.
-- Seals on the car aren't as tight as they should be... On the freeway I can hear air seeping in from somewhere... and finally,

--- I STILL CAN'T GET MORE THAN 200 MILES OUT OF A FULL TANK.

Even with all that, I still love it... This truck is an attention magnet like no other vehicle I've ever driven.

Casey./

Thumbs up Zero Defects

My leather isn't cheap -- it is gorgeous and looks great (it even still smells good!) I have no problems with any rattles or anything else. My foglights are clear and perfect. All my doors and seals fit right. The paint is smooth and glossy and has no defects.

Guess I'm just a lucky guy, but my truck is absolutely perfect for over two years now.

hey harley guy, how many miles do you have? Just curious

i don't have any rattles or problems with seals either though. and my only paint defect is my passenger side door has alot of orange peel from when the dealer repainted it, and then the roof cracks (and a little tiny dent from a car door but thats another story....need to get that hammered out )

The paint on my hood and roof was acid etched. It took three tries, but now it's smooth as glass. Everything else is perfect, so far. That may be because I never drive it, and it only has 900 miles so far ...
