Well, Since I think I did it first, I'll chime in:
1. You can pop up the mirror on the pass visor to see what's underneath, so pop it up.
2. peel off the warning sticker on the front side
3. peel the back off your plaque and clean it off good
4. punch out the fake rivets on the plaque to leave the 4 holes
5. make a cardboard pattern of the plaque with the hole pattern.
6. measure carefully on the visor so the pattern and holes line up with areas under the mirror where the screws won't hit the reinforcing ribs in the plastice etc. Also make sure it is level. It's kind of tricky as the top and bottom of the visor is not parallel. I lined it up with the top edge on mine
7. with a very sharp awl, carefully poke small holes through the cardboard pattern holes, into the visor, and through the plastic. Make sure the awl is small so if you mess up you can reposition and poke.
8. I then used some #4x40 allen head stainless screws about 3/8 or 1/2" long and just screwed them through the holes of the plaque, directly into the plastic.
Since the holes you poked were small it threads in real well. Even if it were stripped, you could put nuts on the back side. Tighten it down snug and snap the mirror back in place. Mine has held fine for many months, even with the wife doing the usual messing with the mirror and all.
Most people think it's a factory mount as it just seems like such a logical place to put it. Get's rid of the ugly warning sticker.
If anyone is in the central florida area and want's to do it, give me a call some weekend, I'll help you out.
