Info about JL Audio Stealthbox

I just got off the phone with a rep from JL Audio (service was excellent) and she informed me that the Stealthbox that will fit inside the REAR console in the 2002 HDs will be available in about 2 weeks. She also told me that is is going to have a 12" sub (the 12W3 v2) versus the 10" sub that was originally planned.

Just though some people would want to know - your local area dealers should be able to place orders now so you can get them when they are first available.

I talked with the JL tech rep over a month ago and they said two weeks then. Maybe they mean it this time. Just a heads up that it could be longer based on their past promises. They were still saying a 10" at that time.

Is this " coming soon" sub powered?
I have an old amp I could use, but it would be nice if I didn't have too...

Ooops! Thanks for reminding me. I'll correct it today.

The blackwood goes in tomorrow with the 8". No JL for now.

The blackwood sub is in and sounds great. Even the stereo shop installers were suprised at the quality of the sound. Many problems encountered but we worked through them all. Updated the signature as requested too.

Question

FEBBER02HD - Glad you're pleased with the results. Couple of questions

Does the Blackwood sub have its own amp?

What's the price range?

Thanks,
HG

Yes it comes with its own amp. Doesn't list specs but probably in the range of 100-150. Price from Ford dealer was $280 plus tax. If you decide to order, let me know and I'll tell you the problems you will face when trying to install. By the way, we haven't installed a crossover as of yet but installed a separate controller for volume on the sub in the dash. It's just above the accessory plug and out of sight. I can control it with two fingers and turn the sub up or down to eliminate distortion if necessary and still get full range on the sub. May eliminate it when I upgrade the rest of the speakers later just not sure yet. I certainly am pleased with the sound though.
