thanks for hte compliments!
the hood is in this week for paint, stock hood is back on for now. it'll be back on in the right color by monday. LoL.
i can't believe how many people have asked me when i'm getting it painted, or what happened to the truck. LoL. now that the stock hood is back on, i'm getting "oh i see you got your hood painted...oh wait a minute...what the ****? "
and if they don't catch on, i just tell them, "yeah, it got painted, i had them fill the ram air scoops though cuz i didn't like them" LoL Duh! lol

anyway, i haven't been on autopia too often. usually just go there when i have some questions on stuff and need immediate answers. there are so many detailers over there they respond quickly to those kind of questions.
but once in a while i just go over there and look around.

maybe i'll post some of these pics over there 2morrow

Josh,
Your truck looks better than I've ever seen it after Zaino and your truck looked good before. I knew you would be happy with it.

I'm up to 5 coats on my truck now. It's great after you put in the up front effort and cost.

Really doesn't cost much more after the initial investment than any other waxes would. Now I use the Zaino car wash concentrate and then gloss enhancer after each wash. Put on a coat of Z5 every so often and that's it really. In fact, it's quicker then some waxes cause you can put the Z5 on the whole truck before removing. Some of that stuff you can only do a little of the truck at a time. Also, since there is no residue you don't have a lot of wax dust to deal with when you're done.

I also notice with the gloss enhancer the truck does not get as dusty as before. I can drive it to work and let it sit in the lot all day, drive home and give it a quick dust with the Calif duster and I'm done.

BTW, my sig pic is after 3 coats of Zaino.

thanks bill!. your truck looks beautiful also

and your right about the zaino. bigger cost and effort up front, but after that innitial big step, its a breeze, and easy to put on and take off, easy to maintain, and lasts a long time.

its alot easier to put on and take off than the LG was, or any wax i've used on my other truck, and i'd say i could probably do 3 coats of the Z with the QD gloss enhancer spray in the same or less time i could just do 2 coats of the LG.

Now i just dust it a few times a day (and i did notice the gloss enhancer spray cut down on dust, cuz i didn't do the tonneau cuz its getting replaced under warranty, and i can feel the static when i put my arm next to the tonneau, but not next to the fenders, and the tonneau attracts all the fuzz or whatever from the towells) And after i dust it, every other day i'll hit it with the gloss spray and it'll stay nice and shiney as the day i polished it, until it rains lol.

did you get their tire shine bill? i've tried dozens of them since i've gotten the HD, and theirs is teh best by far! really far. lol.

Josh,
Thanks for the compliment. No I didn't get the tire dressing but I did get the glass polish. I wasn't as pleased with the glass polish as I thought I'd be thought it did take out some serious hard water spots on my wife's Expy. It was pretty hard to use though.

Sounds like the tire dressing works good. Did you use it on your bed mat? If not, what do you use. I tried the Turtle Wax tire dressing on it and it shined it up really good but it was slippery. I also used it on the tires and it worked okay. Didn't spin off or anything. I'd like to find something to make the mat look good but not make it slippery.

I was happy with the glass polish. I didn't use it on my back windows though, cuz i just use Liquid glass on the glass on those cuz it hides the acid rain etching on the tinted glass really well
but for the front windshield, it worked great for removing that hazy film on the inside of the winsdshield. Just made alot of dust buffing it offf, but it went easily.

tire dressing worked great. used a foam applicator and with one coat it was semi gloss, and 2 coats high gloss. It actually dried on the tires, and is only very very slightly oily when you touch it, but i'm thinking thats cuz i used cheapo tire shine on the tread for the show (cuz it comes off as soon as i start driving anyway) and some of that ran onto the side wall and the 2 got a little mixed. But no spin off or attracting dirt. I'm going to try it on my bedmat this weekend, i'll let you know how it goes. i think outnumbered did his with the z tire shine and he said it worked great. somebody did...

Thumbs up

Looking good

My distributor recommended I use the z5 or z2 on my rims and nerf bar but for now I stick with the the mothers mag and alum polish.

BTW a fair warning, you will need to change your shorts when the rock chips the zanio and not the paint. I have an entire bottle of z5 on my truck and about a half bottle of z2.

i may try the z on the rims, but for now, i'll just use the mothers mag and aluminum (not chrome...that stuff was crap) polish on the rims. i'll try it eventually though.

i should have switched earlier, but the pics never do it enough justice

Harley#356,

Try the Z2 right over top of your Mag and Aluminum polish on your wheels.......... I think you'll like it!

Yep, I'd put it right over the top of the Mag Polish. Your not going to get the "Z" durability on the wheels that you get on the paint, but the "Z" will stay on the wheels for a quite a while, and it takes very little Z2 or Z5 to do the wheels. If you want, you can wash the wheels with some Z7 before you put on the Z2 to help the bond. It helps make removing brake dust a bit easier too! Also, there's no need to use the Z5 on the wheels before the Z2.

Give it a try! Put on a couple of light coats of Z2 and let me know what you think!

I'm going to apply another coat of Z on the truck this weekend and update my f150online.com photo album. I am definetely going to take the plunge and try it on the rims.

I did mine and like Boss_429 says it seems to keep the rims cleaner with less brake dust. Takes hardly no polish.

God bless, your trucks look great, I mean great!! Even though I don't have an HD I do have a 2002 Lariat FX4 (bright red). Keep telling my wife I need an HD. Anyway I just ordered Z1,Z2 and Z6 for my truck. Am I right to do the following?
Z1 then Z2
Z6 then Z2 and on and on and on.

Thanks for the help and again your trucks look great!!
