OOPS. My bad. I thought they all had the center console in the back?!?! Well, that being said, he has a lot of boxes to choose from. Might I suggest a single 10 or a couple of 10s with a nice clean powerful amplifier. I have always had great sound with that combination. I recently had 2 JL Audio 10W3D4 in my Surburban and a JL Audio 500 watt monochannel amplifier. It sounded great. I have been designing audio systems and enclosures for myself and friends for about 12 years now and I always come back to this combination. I did have four JLA eights in an old full size blazer that would surprise the heck out of you. I had professional audio installers swear I had a set of 12s before I would reveal what I had. Very impressive sound. It all depends on your taste, of course. Good luck. For those of us who have a center console in the back, I am trying to come up with a decent enclosure design. It is going to take me a while though. I have to get my 3D software loaded up on my computer and spend some quality time with the truck to figure out the shape. But not tonight. Tonight I RACE! Off to the track I go. Wish me luck guys. I am trying to break into the 14s, bone stock. I am also taking the Cobra (best of 11.55@118 on slicks) out. I am hoping that my buddy with the modded '03 Cobra (best 12.38@114 on F1s) brings his out. Might be some fun tonight. I am kinda hoping for 12.40s on drag radials. I have traction issues. We shall see. LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE. Cheesy, I know. I just felt like saying it.

Hey FEBBER02HD...

The JL does not include an amplifier if you are talking about the Stealthbox. It retails for around $550 and has a 10". Will be available in about two weeks according to their tech rep. I ordered the Blackwood box with the 8". Decided against giving up the rear console. It has the amp with it. I may replace with an upgrade 8" if I can find one that fits the box after it arrives. Keep in mind that the speaker cover does not come with the Blackwood box. It only comes with the whole rear cover for $400 to $500. I'll make a cover out of the 10X10 cover in my '02. I'll let you know how it works out. I expect the sub to come in this Friday.
Did you get the Blackwood sub yet? I was thinking about the same thing... can you get me a part # for this? I've been unable to get it from the Ford dealer... they don't know how to find it.

If you don't mind me asking... what is the cost?

Were you able to modify the blank cover from the Harley?

Thanx Dude!

I didn't want to either, but I have found I don't use it at all, so losing it really isn't a big deal.
Hey Ken... Are you looking to sell your Blackwood box? Do you have any pics of it?

sub box 8" or 10"

I made my own sub box cost about nothing. For 8" or 10"
fits in center fire wall.

this is a true custom build and uses every inch of space available for speaker use.

Also I was able to put in a JL 8" $89.00 which is much better and more compatible with my amp. than the Blackwood and Sounds great.

materials
1. particle board -
2. fiberglass cloth and resin- available any auto parts store
3. lining cloth -forget what it is called but it is very cheap
available at any wal-mart or fabric store. ask here
you buy your speaker what it is called - avail in many colors
4. silicone - black paint - speaker wire

1. take out back console - need long extension to remove screws
2. remove rear fire wall cover
3. make a couple vertical pcs. cut out of cardboard at angles
4. trace to particle board and cut out
5. make a top piece to hold sides together & screw in - long strip
5. lay aluminum foil on back carpet and bottom carpet
6. place side pcs attached at top where they will go
7. lay in fiberglass between side pcs and put on resin
8. remove after dry about 20-30 min
9. re-coat with more resin - add cloth to inside with resin add more fiberglass if desired
10. cut out square for front of box put in hole for speaker
11. drill hole for wire and run wire thru
12. silicone all edges including wire hole
13. spray paint custom box if you want - the box can look rough as it never shows
14. cut hole in pop out piece in center behind rear console

I put in a 8" but a 10" will fit if you make a wider box
you need a larger amount of air to drive a 10" check mfg.

this was the first time i did any thing like this and it took about 4 hrs work. - there is plenty room to put in a 10"

I have 6 1/2 components in all 4 doors and an alpine amp
sounds great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been outta town for a few days so late in responding. The info on the Blackwood box is as follows:

Part # - FMC 2C6Z18C804BA
List - $361.63
I paid $280.00

Its made by Alpine and may be on backorder (mine was). Just got mine on Friday 9/13/02. Again, it comes with no wiring harness and no grille cover. Plan to work on mine this weekend if time allows. Hope this helps.
