Unhappy '02 brake pedal problems

Hey guys;

after just 4500 miles the factory brake pedal has begun to shread its rubber strips.

It looks like it just a pad that stretches over a steel frame.

Has anybody had the same problem? ...ever take the pad off??

Right now it's just the right end rubber strip that's toast. I feel kinda cheep going back for a warranty replacement.

Thanks

Frank

Mine has done the same thing.

I just don't want to de-mod it to take it back in.

Thumbs down

YEA, mine has stared to tear away at only 800 miles! Seems ford could have used a stonger rubber... However, that's the only complant I have, it's a very high quailty ride! Add an air force one and a new chip, and wow what an inprovement on the already good get up and go!
