if you have a 4r100 trans get the factory tech valve body. If you have the 4r70w you can get the transgo or baumann shift kits. or you can get a Performance automatic or lentech valve body. no one has the valve bodies for the 4r70w yet...... i plan on getting one, because i had to get my tranny rebuilt after installing the baumann kit. it was not a problem directly related to the kit. but i would like to try something diffrent and not as difficult. not that it was that hard...... but the stang guys have alot of good things to say about lentech and PA. check out www.corral.net and www.stangnet.com for some more info.

This is a good article I wrote about shift kits, it's written about 4R100s but the same principles apply to all automatics.

Hope this helps,

Somebody has got to be the guinea pig on this. I would love to try the valve body but I have other fish fryin' at the moment that can't be ignored

I'm hoping you have the 4R70W.......

Hi, Gregg!!!

You're the one that tuned me in to the complete valve body replacement for the 4R70W and I've wanted one ever since. I've just been way too busy to focus on anything more than simply washing my truck lately.

The idea of a complete valve body replacement is much more appealing than a valve body modification. If there's a problem or if I sell the truck, it can simply be removed. Modifications are permament and I've heard of too many problems with TransGo and Baumann to gamble.

I thought if I repeated the phrase enough, it would stick. I haven't heard of any comlaints about the Lentech and PA valve bodies. Just praise. I really want someone with an F-150 to get one.

you may be in luck, i am going to call PA and lentech and talk to them about the valve bodies on monday. if them say that the bodies will work alright with my tranny i will order one. i think i will be getting the PA, because the lentech comes with a switch for OD that you have to wire up. i need to call and talk to them because i will only get the VB if it is a direct replavement, and the wire harness on the current VB will connect directly up. if they say it is a go. i should have the VB in by next weekend.
