Good Point you brought up regarding the locks BillP. The innovation, snuglid, and the fibernetics, use top locks. One on each side. If I lived up north with a lot of snow and Ice, I would not want that. I would go with the Leer or the ARE, my problem with the ARE, is I don't like the camel in the middle. I like the flat covers better, I think they look smoother.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the camel back. I checked my local Leer dealer and they want $699 for a 700 series. Seems like the going price.

Unfortunately takes about 4 weeks to get. I don't know if I can wait that long.

 

Take a look at the Century top. It has no camel hump and the paint matched extremely well on my gray 02HD. Plus lifetime warranty on the finish. My first one had a couple of very small defects. Talked to the dealer and he contacted Century. They shipped a brand new one to me and installed it at no charge and destroyed the old one. The new one has no defects that I can find and looks great.

I disagree here. With the S'crews having such a short bed, and with the 5-6" difference in width from front to back, I think that it is ugly with those side tracks that are needed to sqaure it up.

The longer the bed, the less this will be noticable. But with the short box it stands out like a sore thumb.

Where are these pictures from? I'd like to see more of the same?

It looks like the Century top has the lock on top. I'm looking for something that has the lock mounted vertically. Though I keep mine garaged and it doesn't see much bad weather I like the look of a smooth top with the lock on the rear.

So far the Leer gets my vote but I'm still open to suggestions

 

Bill, 4 weeks is nothing. I say go for it. I had to wait 14 months to get mine at least it was free though.


Zinc, now that i think about it, you're right. The screws and the flaresides start at the same width, and end at the same width because the screws us the same back window, and the same taillights etc, so you're right about the longer the less noticible. Didn't think about that. But i still think they look nice. A fiberglass looks nicer IMO, but if you need the function, it still is nice looking.

BillP, it does look like its on the top, and its recessed there too. Cover looks nice, just don't like the locking system on that. I agree the covers look so much nicer with a single lock cylinder on the rear vertical side of the cover without any handles or anything. Just IMO. I say go with the leer, there aren't too many other options left for ya for what your looking for.
