Question What was this guy smoking

I was driving home today, and saw this on NEW car lot at the dodge dealers. Its a used 01 HD and it was on the new car lot parked INFRONT of the vipers and prowlers. Usually they have the used cars on a lot down the road a little farther, and their new, special, more higher up end cars in this spot. Pretty funny seeing a used HD where they usually park their pair of yellow vipers.

That Spirit dodge sticker would be the 1st thing to come off if i got it. And those tailpipes are so friggin dirty, doesn't even look chrome. That baby looks like its runnin rich too. But its got dealer tags and it being so dirty tells ya that the dealer and probably every other salesman has been driving this thing aroud for a while and they just got it yesterday and it was clean then. I wonder what the guy that traded it in on a crappy dodge was smoking.

Notice the big greasy hand print right on the middle of the hood, and the bird crap and all the other bug guts and dirt.

Here's another pic with the pair of yellow vipers and the yellow prowler back further. They have been at the dealer for almost a year now. This guy has got super high prices. They got a shelby edition durango back in 99 and its still on the lot.

Off topic, but here's a pic of a 00 focus with a cervini's ram air hood and head light covers. And a jeep land runner. I call em hummer wanna-be's. I would think there would be a lawsuit for copying the design cuz when you see it in person, it looks like a small hummer. Someone that doesn't know cars would think it is a hummer. Looks stupid IMO.

Just thought it was weird to see a 01 HD on a dodge car lot.

I would guess they put it there because they will more than likely sell a HD quicker than a Viper. I'll take both please

yup your probably right. I guarantee that that truck isn't sitting there for very long. My guess would be it will be gone by monday. HD's are still pretty rare here in South Jersey, and dont sit on the lots long. But then again, this guy has really high prices, but i dunno cuz the dealers are sellin the 02's for over msrp. I give it until monday, unless the dealer keeps it to drive around, cuz he's already been doin that alot.

pretty funny i think. Dodge dealer owner driving around in a ford.

SWEET!!! Did you get to ride/drive it? Damn that shifter is up high. Thats one hott car But you mean you wouldn't rather ride around in that awsome looking super fast green car in the backround?

Anyway, i rode my bike up to the dealer, and asked the dealership owner what he was selling it for. He told me the lowest he would go is 34 grand, and that is if he doesn't keep it for his own truck. He was trying to get me to buy it, but i told him that was more than my 00 was new, and he can shove it. LoL. Anyway, he told me the truck was reposessed, and he got it at an auction. So he probably got it pretty cheap and will probably make at least 10 grand off it if he sells it at his price. (and the poor guy it was taken from must be crushed now)

He asked me if my HD was supercharged, and i told him no, cuz 02 was the 1st year with the stock supercharger on it. He then told me no i was wrong, and back in 99, they had some extra L's left (he said 50 and didn't know that they were called L's, he just called them the "little ford trucks with the stock s/c...LoL), so they slapped some HD badges on them, but hardly anybody knows about them. My @ss they did, there may be a FEW 99 HD concepts locked up in ford museum or something, and they are probably 00 models anyway and not s/c. And what i'd like to know is how HE would know this, but not have any idea that the HD's are limited editions and such. He was blowing total smoke, and I kept embarassing him infront of the other sales men by proving him wrong. It was pretty funny.

I asked him if he knew how many 01 HD's they made, and he had no clue and guessed 20 or 30K. I told him they made just under 7K and he almost *****. LoL, he'll probably mark the truck price up again now cuz its such limited edition and rare in south NJ. I also asked him if he knew how much the rims cost, and he guessed 2 grand. Wrong again. Told him almost 6 grand with the tires and he almost ***** again. LoL. I thought it was pretty funny that he acted like he knew what he was talking about, but was totally wrong. And the fact that he said he might just keep the truck and sell his dodge dually. (keep in mind that he owns the dealership and would then be driving a ford....how ironic is that. LoL) When will these dodge boys ever learn.

sorry for writing so much, i thought it was pretty funny and i'll go up there on monday to see if he sold it yet and if he did what he got for it.

Harley#356,

Thanks for the post. That was pretty funny. Just goes to show that you cannot trust a dealer.

yeah, especially those dodge guys. They are some pretty shifty dudes. LoL

and i got plenty of funny or just plain stupidity of people stories. The longer you have your truck, the more dumb/stupid comments you'll encounter. LoL

O yeah, that reminds me from swedesboro auto show last year, when i had my HD truck entered. I was wiping the truck down, when a different dodge dealer salesman pulled in the spot across from me with a new 02 Ram with the new 20's to try and promote the dealer and new designed truck at the show. Well the guy walked over to my truck, and he asked if they were 20's and where i got them. I told him yeah, that they were stock. He was pretty suprised, cuz he never saw or heard of the HD trucks before. Then he commented on what a nice job i did on the custom interior. I told him that the WHOLE truck was stock. The guy then asked what drop and exhaust system i put on it because he really liked the stance and tips. I told him once more that EVERYTHING was stock. He looked at the truck for a good 10-15 minutes before he went back over to his crappy dodge to start setting up his display table. Pretty funny that he liked my STOCK HD that he thought was all custom more than his dodge. LoL

You should have told the doge dealer that there aren't any wheel locks on those rims It is always hilarious to dethrone someone with a new dodge and 20" wheels. Its like "yeah I have a 00 with stock 20" wheels and they are pretty cool and all." The other day I saw two late model chevy half tons with 20" dubs and no drop or riced out appearance packages. They could have been 4x4. They must have been running 50 or 55 profile tires because they were huge.

Yeah i know what you mean abullerm bout some of those tires. The new dodge 20's don't look that big to me. I think they look more like 18's. I guess cuz teh grille is so fugly and huge, and those dumb lookin headlights are huge and so are the tires, so i guess it makes the rims look smaller. Also the big spokes on the rims don't help either.

I still think that the HD 20's are one of the best lookin rims out there. Not being bias or anything, i really do think that. (If i was being bias, i would have said THE BEST, not one of the best. LoL ) Just the way the 5 spokes split off into 10 thinner ones, and the way the who edge of the inner rim slants out wider on the outside and isn't just a flat circle with 5 spokes. It has alot of contours to it, and its not too ricy.

Anyway, i didn't tell him about the wheel locks. It probably didn't have any on there cuz it didn't come with them and i doubt the guy put them on there cuz its a shame, but he couldn't afford the truck itself. That just made me think of something else. I thought i remember reading that ford's and dodges have the same bolt patterns. I wonder if he would be a big enough @ss as to put the HD rims on another dodge truck, and put the dodge 20's on the HD. Now that's a shame and a scary thought. LoL

awsome! Do you know the fastest he's been in it? and how many HP?

Fastest car i've been in is my friend's 1990 s/c saleen mustang. 140 mph on the highway.

anyway, i rode my bike up to the dealer today. They put this big fugly spirit dodge sticker on the doors. Poor truck. LoL. Also, when i was riding up there, i saw the dealer driving back the other direction in a gray 02 ram quad cab, with the dumb 20's and HD stickers everywhere! And he also had 3 HD cycles on a trailer. Not exactly a HD f150 knock off, but i thought it was pretty funny. I'll try to get a pic of it next time i'm up there if he's there.

Here ya go clonetek, pair of yellow matching vipers, and a yellow and a black prowler. One for him, one for her, and 2 for the kids???. LoL
