Diablo Deltas ready!

Just got off the phone with Johnny Lightning... they have received their Delta (flip) chips and were downloading their programming as we spoke--should start burning their chips tomorrow, first ones should go out shortly thereafter. Hmmm... she said they have eight Harley Delta chips on order--I know who one is , wonder who the others are???

Doug--LMFAO . I actually thought about that when I chose that box... told one of my buddies "watch this, he'll get all excited when he sees the Summit box". I know that I am like Pavlov's dog--the delivery guy walks up carrying a Summit box and I start salivating! ken--The Delta chip is Diablo's version of the flip chip, you can switch between 2 custom tunes or the stock programming at the flip of a switch... on the go.

I'm not Knocking the flip switch, but unless your a serious drag racer and Your going to set up a ***** to the wall program that runs your motor on the edge with race gas, your not going to use the program unless your bolt-on mods are minimal. If one was to lets say.....put on an 8 lb pulley(cough*Slingshot*cough), the stock program is no longer an option.......the truck would run like crap. I had one on my hopped up F250 Powerstroke and I can't remember ever flipping the switch to a lower program. I not real sure its worth the extra cash.....unless you are a SERIOUS drag racer

False, Nay, Not true.
I have the Superchips flip chip on my truck and Ive fliped my switch plenty of times. Mainly depending how and where im driving. If im gonna be doing long drives(Highway) Ill run Highest pump grade I can get. Normally 101 or 103 from the track. or if its just to and from work where I know ill get another speeding ticket if I run high test fuel Ill get low or mid grade pump fuel. It all depends on the person driving the truck. I also noticed MPG differences if I switch around so I try to get the best out of what I can. The MSD also made a huge difference in the truck and how it runs on the different programs and fuels. I like the switch. Thats just me, call me crazy.

Point taken, but for those who are doing serious bolt on mods the program choice window narrows. Unless you have the capability of tuning it yourself off of a laptop....not here yet but it won't be long

Weeellll... let's see... they do sell race unleaded at Wall... and there are several pesky low 13 sec Lightnings that need a "surprise" ... and I do go every month... and it costs nothing extra to run your 'tow vehicle'... that "race" program could come in very handy. Errr, cough, if 'someone' were to decide to occasionally run their truck at the strip. Especially if that theoretical 'someone' (drop-top?) had an 8 lb lower pulley...

I guess you know this means at some point we will have to get together and race our 'near-stock' HD's and our blown stangs... maybe Little River (excuse me, 'Temple Academy Dragway'). We do need to make it interesting--maybe loser buys dinner at 'Chuck-A-Cheeses' (Joshua's pronunciation) with the kids??? We can have the 2nd round at Wall... loser picks up the tab at Zentner's. Deal?

Right on, So what do we do if we split wins, I'm not looking forward to lining up against that 93 with my IRS. I need a car trailer, know anybody that has one cheap? Hey, how much was your snug lid?

I'll even loan you my 16" ET Streets/rims to even things a bit... that'll take care of 90% of the hop. With the extra top end power your Cobra is gonna have I suspect you'll take me in the Mustang race . 480+ rwhp is down right scary! I don't know of anyone right off with a good trailer for sale--unless you want my 24' enclosed Wells Cargo . It goes on the market this week. If we split we'll just go Dutch--you buy at your place, I'll buy at SA.

$7500... it cost over $12k new in 2000, it's totally decked out, air conditioned/heated, front toolboxes, workbench, diamond plate floored, electric jack, polished stainless lower skin/bonded upper, diamond plate splash guards and fenders, carpeted/insulated walls/ceiling, extra lights... etc, etc. Absolutely mint condition. I took it in trade on the Cobra.
