Broken Fog Lights

Has anyone experienced borken fog lights on their H/D's. I picked mine up on 6-12-2002 and noticed one fo the fog lights is cracked. I saw on another website where this seems to be an ongoing problem. anyone experienced this on theirs. I will take mine back tommorrow.

Yeah that's pretty common, and it costs around 200 bucks for a new one. Mine haven't cracked yet (knock on wood) but the driver's side bracket broke and they had to order a whole new fog. Luckily it was covered under warranty, and now i have a spare fog cuz they let me keep the old one.
good luck

Mine did twice. Damn things are taxing. $132 the first time for just the light. And now you have no choice but to buy the whole housing for like $200. I got my second one that im still waiting to recieve from a fellow f150onliner. $60. Should be here tomarrow. Im gonna have to invent some type of protectant tape that really works. The first one broke with some crappy *** lense tape. The plastic from a 2 liter bottle might work better for rocks and pebbles. Ill have to get jiggy with a razor and a diet coke bottle.

I kinda figured the clear tape thing might help. I purchased some 3m clear which is used for making clear mask for cars from expel.com
I bought it for my excursion, think I might try some on the fog lights.
I was taking the wife and kids to price club yesterday and someone ran into the back of me. Luckily only damaged the rear bumper and black cover. What a bummer, only 4 day old.

Ketchnu, thats a shame about your bumper.

anyway, let me know how the clear tape or soda bottle thing works for the fogs. I haven't cracked one yet (knock on wood), but i wanna prevent it. Thanks alot

Haryley, Send me your address and I'll send you some of the 3M plastic coat. I bought way to much for my excursion and have plenty left over. I used it for the rocker panels to prevent rocks from chipping because of the bigger tires. I think I bought enough to cover the whole truck. Ordered my diablo chip and pulley today, can't wait. Fiberglass cover next, can;t decide which one, I'm leaning towards to pro-innovation because of the looks.

Ketchnu, i got the 3m stuff today. Have you tried it on your HD yet? And does it peal off easily after its been on for a while and starting to look a little raddy? I also heard of one guy that had it melt to his fog light. Just wanna make sure before i put it on the fogs. But if i don't put it on the fogs, i can still use it on the lower edge of my air dam. Thanks alot man, if there's anything i can help you out with, just let me know.

Thanks again -Josh

I have not tried it on my lights yet. Supposed to get a new one installed tommorrow. I will install the tape this weekend since the wife will be out of town, I can spend all weekend detailing. If I remember correctly, go to xpel.com and they use it on headlights as well as paint protection.
Thanks for the info on the bra, I emailed him and got a reply quickly, I will be ordering one tommorrow.
I am thinking about purchasing one of the covers from innovation.
I emailed them and have not had a reply about pricing or painting, but have seen the pics and they look pretty good. Have you heard anything positive or negative things about these covers.

Ketchnu, post pics when you get your bra. The box mine came in was soaking wet, but the bra was fine. It also comes with a hood piece, but i don't use it cuz i have the bug deflector. I may use it though when i get my ram air hood.

as for the innovation covers, i've heard alot of good things about them. But just becarfeul installing it cuz i think clonetek said his rubbed some of the paint off when he was putting his on. But other than that, i haven't heard anything bad. Put some pics up when you get it.

Thanks again for the 3m stuff.
