HELP....need bass

Secondary to the unique back seat setup of the 02s, I am unable to use my sub box with two 10 inchers in the the new truck. So, I replaced all 4 speakers with a pioneer plate system with my amp and its sounds good and loud but no real bass and I miss the sound I had in my F250. What are you guys doing....there is not much room back there. Even one 8 inch would surely do the trick. Any suggestions.

The blackwoods has a 8 inch sub stock a little pricey $290.-220. ford can get it also, i had a 10 inch in the rear console on bottom installed .To replace the console was cheaper than the other way.

Tell me more about your install. Did you remove the console for good? Have any pics? How is the sound?

i think subbox.net makes a box thaty fits in the crew.... but now that i think i dont think it will fit with the buckets.... i dont think it is that hard to have a sub put into the console... but i would have it done.... unless you are good with fiberglass and epoxy.

Hey All,
I put a 10" Alpine SWR-1041D in an enclosure behind the front console. It has a Dual Voice Coil. I get no buzz from the front console.I have an MTX Thunder 6500D Amp. It hits hard and has DEEEEP Base. The MTX has a cool feature on the amp that you have a seperate control for the output of the bass amp. Its a little dial i mounted up front. Here are some pics... Hope it helps...

Drop Top---On another site we have made sub boxes that fit under each bucket. Yes I known it looks small but Rockford Foose makes a 6.5" sub that will fit and while I have not finished mind as yet, the guys who have completed them are real happy with them. Go to Rockford web page to get more info on the sub. Other than a few mesurements i had I used cardboard to design my boxes. E-mail for any other info if you need it.

12's Can Be Done

If you want to put a sub behind the rear seats, where it belongs. I am having a complete audio video system installed in my 02 HD. You sound like a man who appreciates a good amount of bass, I do as well. I had the rear seats moved forward 2 inches to make room for a proper sub enclosure. This enclosure can be made from wood or fiberglass. I have some photos of the install in my gallery. I am going there tomorrow to check the progress and take more photos. I hope you take the time and effort to do a proper install in your truck. I have seen a lot of crap installs on this site.

Thanks guys. Blowfish, did you have to cut any of the plastic behind the seat? Harley2001nj, did you build the box or was it pre-fabed?

No Sir, I don’t believe in doing any permanent hacking or cutting to the vehicle.

Those are some excellent pictures of your progress. I was just pondering the installation of my old subs and amps from my old T-bird this afternoon (they don't do much good sitting in the garage). I was going to make a subbox.net type enclosure for under the rear seat but I like to fold the seats up to carry large items as to not damage the leather and haven't made a box because of it. I like your idea of moving the seat forward and using the low profile subs. Could you post a link for those subs and where you purchased them?
