Although i don't usually carry that much stuff in my bed, and when i do i try to keep it away from the walls and tgate, and i don't set anything on the tgate, some scratches have accumulated on there. I wouldn't worry about it cuz you can't see it, but when i go to shows i have the tonneau open and tailgate down and the scratches look kinda ugly. They aren't deep or a whole bunch of em, but its not pretty. You detail maniacs like myself should know how i feel. Anyway i was thinking about getting a tailgate mat, but i don't wanna drill a bunch of holes. I was thinking of maybe using velcro (its got very strong adhesive). Do you guys think this would work. Also does anybody know who sells tailgate mats that don't have a bunch of holes in it for screws or the indents for paintcans and such. I'm pretty much looking for a plain rubber mat for it. It'd be cool if i could find one that said Harley, but i doubt that's gonna happen. Thanks for any help. Also does anybody know where i can get a tailgate seal? Dust and dirt just loves to blow in through the tailgate crack and my bed gets super nasty pretty quick. Thanks again.

Why not buy a bedrug? It looks great, protects the bed, and will not scratch.

 

save up for a bedrug.. trust me.

and i think you can get the tailgate seal from ford.
do a search on the fourms and see if you can come up with it.
if not, maybe the parts guys can help..

 

I'd love to get a bed rug, but its a little too much for me to afford right now. I'm going to be getting the cervini's hood soon, and i wanna get a 2" rear drop kit. I'll start saving after i got those 2 things, but for the mean time, i was looking for a tailgate mat just to protect it. How well does the bedmat fit with the bedrug? Thanks

How dare you call my bedmat nasty!!!! LoL. j/k. My bedmat is perfectly clean and in perfect condition. I wouldn't wanna take the Harley bedmat out though, so thats why i wanted to know how it fit with the bedrug. If it wasn't a HD mat i'd take it out, but since it is, its staying. Whatever HD came on this truck, stays on this truck. LoL

I guess i could, but then i'd have just a rug on the tgate. I'd like to get something rubber so it matched the bedmat somewhat. Eventually i wanna get a bed rug, but for now i don't have the money. I tried searchin the net for tailgate mats, but the only ones i could find were either plastic, or screw on ones. I wonder where i can find just thick rubber so i can make my own.

 

problem solved... get a hot chick (or chicks if you prefer, the more the merrier) to lay on your tailgate at shows.. that will take away from the scratches. and you will win for sure. who needs thick rubber when you got hot chicks?

 

I do all three. I have a Bed Rug, I leave the mat in (on top of the bedrug, looks good actually), and I have a chick sit on the tailgate. I got pics in the "World" gallery.

 

thats a good idea. i'd go with that. but, i got a bedrug for my 2000. and i took out the mat. believe me you wont miss it. if i were you i would buy some rubber at home depot. you could probably get a thick rubber floor mat or something. you also might try to find someone with a 2000 bedmat they dont need. maybe you could use the logo part on the tailgate. but. if i were you i would just leave it be for now and then get the bedrug whenever you can afford it. the belltech drop is only 50 for the rear from www.lightningforceperformance.com . thats a great mod too. check out pics of the stance you will get in my gallery. I want to get the cervinis hood too. but i think it will end up costing close to 1000 with paint. thats alot. but that is a kick *** hood.

2000F150HD, no, i don't believe you, i will miss it. LoL If it came on the truck and says HD, its staying on the truck. I like the mat, it looks cool with the HD logo i think. Anyway, the pics look good. I saw a cervini's on another 00 HD a few months ago. SAWEET looking hood man. Truck just looks so mean with it. But your right, i figure around 1k bucks. 439 for the hood, and i was quoted 400 for paint by one shop, i gotta check around more, but i won't have to pay shipping cuz cervini's is only about 1/2 hour away from here so that saves me like 130 bucks.

ill probably get the hood after i put some more power under there with my ATI. so.... it will be awhile. plus i screwed up my bumper now, so i got to get that fixed.... if blownharley ford doesnt have a pic of the mat in there with the bedrug, i might be able to throw mine in there so you can see how it looks. also, on the bedrug the bottom and the sides are actually 2 seperate pieces that zip together. so maybe you could just put in the sides and leave the mat at the bottom. just a thought. you could probably find someone to buy the bottom too.... savw a bit of cash.

thanks 2000F150HD. When i do eventually get a bedrug i'll probably keep the bottom piece also though, just so the dust and stuff that blows in the cracks of the bed doesn't all work its way under the bedmat as easily as if it was just the mat there. How does the rug install? I thought it was velcro. and was it pretty easy to install with the tonneau still on?
