Foglights

If anybody knows a good hook up for factory foglight replacements please let me know. I just broke a 2nd one. The 1st one i paid $137 from Ford, Now they have raised the prices to $197. Thats for one driver side foglight. WTF are they nuts. I thought 137 was high. They are the exact same lights just ford increased all the pricing on the Harley Parts. For $197 they should be bullet proof. If you know of a better place please let me know. Thank You.

Hey...
Did you break the lens or the mounting bracket? My Mounting Bracket was broken by my daugters friend thinking it was cool to push on it. I epoxied it back together and it is like new. My chin also hit the floor when Ford told me the $140 price a few months back. They sell the whole unit and will not seperate! B.S.!
Good Luck!

I just need the lense and they said that the $197 is only the one driver side lense. HAHAHA, there funny!!! Might have to crawl around the dealer after hours with a screw driver, if you know what I mean. J/K. But damn!! there taxing me hard. Maybe Ill find a CrackHead to do it for a CheeseBurger. HAHAHA !! Im also in need of new tires and a 30000 mile tune up so I think since theyve got about 15 2002 HD,s Blacks and Grays on the lot. I might just remove all my mods and talk about a tradein and upgrade to the Supercharged Bad Boy. See what type of deal they want to work on. Its funny cause when I got my truck I had to wait 3 months and when they got their 10 in they all went in the first week. Theyve had these sitting there for a long time now. What did anybody pay for a 2002? A supercharged version sounds nice to me. See how it sounds to my bank account.

Are these foglights the same ones that come on the 01-02 Lightnings? They look very similar, and the price seems about the same (bend over). On the Lightnings these things are notorious for breaking when exposed to cold rain. The dealers act like they're doing you some kind of favor for replacing them the first time, then charge you for the next dozen sets. Ford KNOWS this is a problem, but like our ex-president "deny, deny, deny".

There's a guy over in the Lightnings forum who recently replaced his with some higher wattage PIAAs. They were about 85% of the size of the originals and he claims it was a relatively effortless install. You may want to check it out.

There almost the same. The HD are Diamond Brite reflectors w/ a Solid Clear Lense (No Difusion like Lightings). I think the first Question out of his (the parts desk guy) mouth was "Did you bring the Vasaline?".

I had one of my brackets break. It was just hanging there and i never hit anything. I took it to the dealers and they said 197 $ to get a new one cuz they can't just order parts to it (bracket, lense, etc.) they have to order a whole new fog. ANyway, they checked out the truck for damage, adn since there wasn't any, it was covered under my warranty. And on the bright side, they let me keep the old fog, (perfectly fine, just broken bracket) so if one ever does crack (knock on wood) i'll have a replacement. I've been lucky so far (knock on wood again).

I have mine that got replaced because of a broken bracket (hit a blown-out tire in the road )--the lense is perfect. If you want it, I'll sell it for $50 plus freight... and yes, I paid $213 with tax for the replacement.

The 99-00 L foglights are the ones with the diffusion glass lenses and 55 Watt H3 bulbs. The 01-02 L foglights have a clear polycarbonate lens and a faceted mirror ("diamond brite"?) reflector, with a 42 Watt 9145 bulb. The mounts are on the rear of the housing, facing rearward.

It sounds like they may be the same.

Yuppies did it!!

Know what the H-D in Harley Davidson stands for????

High Dollar!!!!

Wasn't that way before the harley craze hit.......

Any thought on a Hella or PIAA reflector light in place of the factory light? This conversation has come up before. I'm no fan of PIAA (another overpriced Made in China part) but they gotta be cheaper that the $200 Ford light.......
