00 and 01 Upgrades?

Just wondering what upgrades people have on the 00's and 01's (non-supercharged) and what people were most happy with.

Also, has anyone tried the MSD Stacker 8 on a non S/C truck? Do the 00's and 01's have a coil on each plug like the 02's?

Thumbs up Yeah I did.

Yeah I did the MSD Stacker 8. I was extremly impressed with the outcome. I have MSDs on my other cars and I think the Ford was the best for an ignition upgrade. Of course I was also able to add much larger coils to both of my other cars later which made a big BIG improvement. But thats not possible as of yet for the Fords. All that can be done is increase the spark and how long and how much it last. I spoke to someone at MSD who said that he would not verify it in writting but that there is what he believs to be work being done to come up with a "Economically friendly" aftermarket coil per cylinder replacement coil that is much more efective then the stock. But im happy w/ just the control unit so far. Im also waiting on my dual electric fans from Flex-a-lite and a BBK Throttle body to come in from Summit Racing. The fans dynoed about 17-18 hp and good torque gains on a 2001 supercrew. The BBK adds about 10 -15 HP. Ive got Air Force One intake and superchip flip chip. Both well worth it. Im debating on headers but Ill probably get em. Waiting on Tax return check. I learned some stuff about taxes and refiled for a $1500 return on top of what i already recieved. If you go to any type of school (college or Tech.)you should look into it. The gov. will pay you some back if you Independent (sorry kids) and working full time. The best part about it is my work pays for my schooling. CHA-CHING!!! More To come later. Time to wash the truck. OHH Yeah check gallery for pics.

I got the chip tuned for two types of gas and some minor mods. It makes a huge diffrence to shifting points, Fuel consumption, top speed, and and anything else that it gets programed for. It is another mod that is a must have if your gonna do modifications to your truck. Get with Mike the superchip man in one of the forums and he'll give you some good advice. I was suprised w/ what it did even w/ 89 octane.

No the only thing that sucks is the removeing of the sealant glue that covers the connection for the chip. That takes about 10 min though. If you look under the dash on the pass. side towards the door (use a flash light) youll see a silver-gray metal box. Thats the CPU. To remove it you just pop the hood and look on the firewall behind the battery. Youll see a harness w/ alot of wires in it. Feel towards the center and youll find a 10mm bolt. Its a retaining bolt that doesnt come out. Loosen it till you feel or think your all the way out. you can then pull the harness and it will come undone. Go back inside and grab that silver box and carefully manipulate it out. Your done! clean terminals, plug in chip and reinstall and wala. Drive and be happy
