cervini's hood install
blwn_hd#34 or anyone that can help, when you got your cervini's hood, how much did it cost to get painted? did you get it clearcoated too? (i don't know that much about paining, any things to watch out for when going to paint shops?) I am going to be getting the cervini's hood VERY soon. well at least hopefully as soon as the guy i was workin for pays up. and i wanted to know if you did the hood install yourself. I would like to do it on my own to save money, but i didn't know if i shouldn't because if it was very involved or if you need to be very careful for some reason or the other. Also, did it come with windshield washer nozzles? and did they go in alright? Thanks for any help. its soo close i can taste it. How's that grille mod goin #34?
thanks again
thanks again
#356, I've been quietly racing to get my hood before you ;-) Anyway, here in AZ I was quoted about $400 to paint and install. May be able to get it done a bit cheaper in Tucson which is a way larger market than Sorry Vista (Sierra Vista actually).
well i got an advantage on ya, Cervini's is only about a half hour from my house.
anyway, i heard 439 for the hood, and 400 for paint. I was hoping to find someone to paint it for less.

Harley#356,
I paid around $480.00 to have mine prepped, painted, installed and aligned. The actual installation does not look difficult. The windshield nozzles and the engine compartment light are easy to relocate from the stock hood the Cervini.
I decided to have my local shop do all the work since I was worried about damaging the hood or worse my HD. I’m glad I decided to let the body shop take care of everything. In the end the job turned out great. By the way, when you drop in on them please find out if they have any new information on the Ram air kit.

I'm on hold...
#356, you may have won this round. In two weeks I'm going to Phoenix to have LASIK surgery on my eyes. With what little vision I may have, I'm gonna check out what kind of deal I can get for a 02 L. If the price is right, I'm driving back with the L!
R.I.P. to your H.D.?
So you might be trading in your HD for a L??? Post some new pics of your HD before you get rid of it if you do.

Mine (and a friends) is sitting in my trailer.....waiting for a trial fit. Cervini's recommends the hood be baked for 1 hour before painting, or exposed to strong sunlight for 5 days ...yeah right, try that in NJ LOL Then paint and clearcoat. The nozzles are included, as well as the screens for the air openings in the hood. As of 4/28/02, when I ordered mine, there was NO ram air kit available. They said they were still working on it. Paint will cost approx $200.
Deal on painting to look into
Hey, don't know how many of you guys out there live near high schools or community colleges that have auto body shops but...
When I restored the 65 Stang, I had it painted at my old high school. All I paid for was the paint. I made sure the seniors who had been there for a while were the ones painting my car. They did a clear coat and everything.
You may want to look into this option after all, it is only the hood not the enitre truck, if you are not happy with it, you can take it to a pro and you are out the cost of the paint, if you are happy with it, you saved youself major bucks which can be used on a new mod.
