Clonetek

I have been looking at new upgrades and need you help in deciding and installing.

1. New Hard Tonneau, where did you get yours? I like the SnugTop.

2. Computer Chip, where did you get your multi-program chip?

3. #5 Pulley

4. Cold Air Intake

5. Power Cooler, I like this idea. 90 degrees lower temp, Yes!

What am I missing?

i ordered mine from a place in california... dunno about places around here.

my chip is from PSP.. it's a 4 way chip.. i know JDM has worked on a 02 HD

the power cooler is good, but you have to either relocate the battery (in the bed) or take out the windshield washer fluid tank.

you'll need a shift kit & 4x4 tranny pan
new muffler (optional)
100hp wet shot (hehe)
single blade throttle body
torque converter
driveshaft loop(s)
cobra R water pump & electric fan
denso spark plugs
traction bars
slicks
and if you really want to get serious, forged internals (pistons/rods)

clonetek, the aluminum driveshaft WILL fit. Maybe not the same exact one as the L's have, but they do make an aluminum driveshaft that they only put on the 00 and 01 HD's. mine came with it. they just switched this year to the steel driveshafts for 02 HD's supposedly for a better ride or something like less vibration. but since the 00 HD has an aluminum one, he could get one for a 02 HD cuz the 00 supercab HD and the 02 super crew HD are the same length and same wheelbase.

Mystery Fan, post some pics when ya get your centercaps done. i wanna c how that would look.

Harley #356,

I will post some pics. I will go this week and take care of it. Got to order a fiberglass tonneau this week too. I plan to have the HD Logo on the top as well.

Good thread! My analysis of available chips:
  • PSP--Autologic, my pick of the litter--have had great results with my 'stangs, unfortunately they don't have the tuning for our '02 HD's available yet.
  • JL--Diablo. Don't know much about it, sounds promising--availble now.
  • JDM--Superchips. JDM looks like a first-class operation, but I've never heard much good about Superchips (at least not in Mustang circles, just learning my way around trucks). I'm leaning towards waiting for the Autologic platform to be ready... though the Diablo is tempting.
As for the tranny upgrade... if I were to go with a 4-5 lb lower pulley, chip, filter and maybe eventually exhaust upgrade--what do I need to do? Factory Tech upgrade (looks easy)? Different valve body? 4x4 pan and shift kit? I'm at a loss here...

john wilker (johnnylightning) is a great guy.. so is sal (powersurgeperf) i met them both at world ford challenge 4.

if you get a chip, tell them to leave the line pressure in the tranny alone.. get a shift kit instead.

when the tuner increases the line pressure in the transmission, it acts as a shift kit.. but the stock clutches can only take so much..
a shift kit is better in the long run.

here is the shift kit & 4&4 tranny pan.. the pan holds 2 more quarts of fluid, and has a drain plug.
took me a little over 2 hours to do..

here's a little info on the line pressure & how to install a shift kit.

Hi there!
When I took the 2002 for the test drive my first question was about the airbag shutoff. They said it is because of the back seats. That was one of the things I didn't like about the 02 and believe me there weren't many. Good luck with your new truck. I used to be a vette owner and it's easy to be converted by one of these.
Cindy.

I had the same concern over the air bag. As a converted vette owner too, isn't the HD awesome?
