Hi guys,

I have posted the sub box pics in my gallery as promised.

BigIke,

The measurements are a little tricky. The best way to get a perfect fit is to get a piece of card board and cut it to the correct size that will fit under the seat. In other words pretend that the piece of cardboard you are cutting is the side of the woofer box.

Once you get the cardboard cut correctly you can use that as a template to cut the sides. All you have to do then is take measurements of the top and sides. Let me know if you run into trouble I can send the measurements.

Where did you get the lower grille from? I have been looking everywhere. You are doing a great job on your truck!

HarleyTC95,

A local accessory shop is making them custom. The ones you see on the wall are prototypes. He should have the 02 lower grille ready by the end of next week. I went in for a test fit last week and it looked good. As soon as I get the grille on the truck I will post pics. The cost will be somewhere around $80.00. I'm trying to work out a deal with the store owner to get a few of them for around $50.00 Stay tuned...

BLWN_HD#34, i saw a guy with a chromed lower grille on his 02 HD over on the "other" f150 site. i believe it was on HD number 9. it looks GREAT. a huge improvement over the black one. I'm lucky with my 00 cuz it was the only year that came with chromed upper and lower grilles. THe thing i was wondering was since you have the cervini's hood, and i'm going to be purchasing one, was instead of using the supplied grill insert for the hood, was if there was someway we could use the thin chrome grill bars from an extra 00 grille, (or any chrome bars for that matter) and install like 3 bars in the cervini's hood instead of the mesh insert. I hope i'm explaining this clearly, but i think that would look awsome if the two scoop openings matched the grille's, (even if the bars were a little thinner, well alot thinner in your case) maybe you can talk to that guy thats doing your lower grille if he can mock up anything. And if he can, i'd be willing to send you money if it would be cheaper for you to buy two instead of just one. Thanks alot, and let me know what you think.

Harley#356,

We must share the same brain I'm trying to get that done at the shop where I am getting the lower grille done. I'll let you know if they can fabricate something. By the way, the lower grille on the other board is actully chorme plastic strips that were placed over the originals.

BLWN_HD#34, great minds think alike or something like that.

definatley let me know how things go with the grille for the cervini's. i hope it works

so that other one was only plastic over the original? if that looked great, i wonder what your truck will look like with a real one to match the upper grille, and smaller ones to go in the hood scoops.

Blackwood Sub

HarleyTC95 - Regarding your Blackwood sub install, do you know if this will work with the stock '02 HD stereo setup, or will I need to mod / add a bunch of other stuff? How easy was the sub to install? Did you have to remove the back wall? I looked at a Blackwood the other day and it looks real nice. Thanks.

Blackwood sub install

Croosr-

It will work just fine with the stock headunit so long as you get the wire harness from the stereo to the sub from Ford or a Car Audio shop to match the factory plugs. For installation, you do have to remove the rear panel and simply screw in the sub with the predrilled holes that exist in your truck. There are also factory cut 6 x 9's holes pre-wired on the left and right extreme back on the cab should you want to install some speakers there. The overall installation took just 20 minutes to install from start to finish. I do recommend either carpet or Dynamat on the back of the cab to reduce vibrations. This gives the sub a much deeper/fuller sound. Should you want to use this sub with an aftermarket head unit, you have to know the wiring diagram to be able to tab into the speaker feeds and bypass the built in amplifer. Any stereo install shop should be able to do this very quickly. Just for giggles I might try an different speaker in the enclosure to see if there is an sound difference.
