Ok fella's, Here it is! My suspicion of our trucks being falsly rated was correct. The Dynometer read 336rwhp and 396 ft/lb of torque. I know the Dynometers are not designed for trucks but, there was a 2001 L there (stock) that made 347, thats only 11hp more than us. So regardless of the numbers, they are comparable.

Well I never woulda thunk they were that close. But I guess they can't be that far off, being that they have the same engine. Guess the real difference is the curb weight of the truck compared to that of the 'L'. Some good numbers there man. Good on ya.
Thinking maybe I should get modding to gets me a few more horse legs running under the hood. Otherwise Dave-hd may come over to my stomping grounds with his new HD, and crush me.
Being that Dave owns a perf. parts store.
Hey Dave. If you're ever in the neighborhood, and you'd like to shoot the chit, give me a shout.
P.S.-Wonder if anyone here will go as far as to have the Harley shield logo with the eagle, airbrushed onto their hood or tailgate. Hmmmm??? Maybe a job for photoshop first. Mind you........There are quite a few Harley emblems all over the new HD already. Might be an overload. Still curious just the same.

wow, i never thought of them doing that. but it does make sense cuz it would be cheaper cuz they wouldn't have to detune the engine as much. now just need a few other 02 HD owners to dyno theirs so we can see some more comparisons, not that i don't believe it isn't detuned.

Hey Guys,
Good data Out#d. My truck has only 200 miles on it, so I haven't been to the chassis dyno yet. I'll probably drive it a few thousand miles before checking it out. It feels pretty strong when I punch the throttle, though.
Just for reference, my co-worker has an '01 Lightning which he recently dyno'd. His truck has about 5000 miles on it and is bone stock down to the production air filter. The dyno numbers were: 366 RWHP / 443 RWTQ. He indicated that the boost was running at 10 psi. I get the impression there is some variation from truck to truck on this. I've heard of other guys that are in the 8 psi range. Maybe that's why my friend's numbers are higher than the other Lightning data quoted above. Other factors include the intercooler temp. This will have a significant effect also.
Anyway you cut it, however, it looks like Ford is sandbagging the power of both the Lightning and HD motors. Good luck.

There, I knew you could....
