harley supercharged vs. lightning
Hey:
Basically a driveshaft loop is a loop of steel that goes around the driveshaft (crazy, huh?). It's purpose is to protect the underside of the car (or truck in this case) in the event that the driveshaft should break.
It will also prevent your truck pole-vaulting should the front u-joint break loose under speed.
This is mostly done in drag racing, but with the aforementioned 2 piece on your truck, its probably just a good idea, especially considering that there are several that are cheap, and easy to put on.
I once saw an old Fairlane lose it's driveshaft about halfway down the track-didn't have a loop. Car was totally f'ed up.
Most of the lightning performance shops sell 'em.
