Ford Shorted 2 Items 4 "00" Owners

Ford screwed us "00" owners out of 2 items:

1. Automatic Climate Control- This is supposed to be a special edition, not another F150.

2. Tailgate Emblem- The 01's & 02's have them. When people are behind me I want them to know I am driving a Harley Davidson F150 no a Lightning.

Automatic climate control wasn't available until the 2002 model year, so the 01's don't have it either. If you want a tailgate emblem, buy one and put it on yourself.

If Ford isn't planning a major structural change they always 'leave stuff off'. This is how buyers are inticed to buy the new model. The trucks couldn't be identical year after year or the incentive wouldn't be there.

I would love to have a driver's side grab handle on the pillar but, I don't want to trade up just to get one.

That overhead console on the Lariat looks neat too.

The first time my wife flipped down her visor and the mirror didn't light up she said,
"This is Ford's top of the line truck?"

Her '95 Windstar has duel lighted mirror visors. They are also double visors with a larger fold to the side and smaller fixed, flip down forward.

I haven't looked at newer F150's to see if they have this because,
because I'd feel like rhdf150.

It's obvious you're not driving a Lightning. You'd be so far ahead they couldnt read the badge

dufunnel, "OUCH"

Excuse me, the 01 owners got shafted on the auto climate as well.
I am just saying it would have been a nice addition for the 2 items & I will put on the emblem if you buy it for me.

Excuse the type o as well. Be good & enjoy your King Ranch.

There are only a few places I think Ford got cheap on our trucks. The dash. It is not spun aluminum. It barely looks like it. It looks cheap to me. I'd like to have seen and actuall aluminum backing to the guages. And the exhaust. Talk about stupid. Dual head pipes and 4 cats going into a single pipe to a single in dual out muffler then back through dual tail pipes. Why the hell didn't they just put a true dual system on there like the Lightnings or the new 2002 HD. That was just cheasy. And no rear sway bar, argh. Of course the sound system is top shelf (NOT). And the advertised billet grill, yea, billet plastic (cheap). I'm looking for substance, class, and performance. They can keep those cheesy adjustable peddles, and climate control, I never did understand the need for that as well (fu fu stuff). I personally can do without power seats, they are just slow and a PITA.

But I'm still happy I have one. I like looking at it when I leave it in the parking lot. And it's kind of cool to see others practically break their necks trying to get a good look as well.

I said you buy one. If you want to bitch, then buy one or bitch to your dealer. You had the money to buy the HD in the first place. What's another $100 if you are so hell bent on having another emblem?

auto climate control

On my gen I Lariat supercrew, I'd like to have the
lighted visors also, along with the electrochromic inside mirror that came on the
gen III (also an 01 model). Of course I'd also hate to give up the rear armrest, but would like
the rear headrests. Ford always makes minor changes in standard equipment between model years,
but also does during the model year, especially
when the model year is long as on the 01 supercrew
As for the auto temp control, I've had it on other
Ford vehicles, and while it's great for long trips
to just set the temp. and put it on auto, for the
shorter trips that I usually drive, I usually ended up overriding the auto feature to turn the fan down or to select normal(fresh) A/C cause I smoke. The manual systems are easier to get outside air because the auto systems don't usually
have a outside air selection button and you have to wait for the system to change into that mode or
turn up the temp. setting to force it to change.
