Question 2001 5.4 supercharger

Hi all; I'm the proud owner of one of these great trucks(HD).I have the superchip,K&N filter, mass air sensor.I have tried the spacer and had a high pitch noise, also had the throttle body(bbk) but could not get the idle below 1000rpm.So i returned the both, but now I want some true power. Can any one help?

Question

Have you noticed any difference with that Mass Air Sensor? I'd love to get a Supercharger for the HD but just don't have the money right now!

So you don't recomend the mass air filter eh? hmmm. Going to skip[ buying that then. If your intrested in a S/C there a couple options you can look at. You can talk to Crash in the SuperCharger and TurboCharger forums. He seems to know what he's talking about and offered me a good deal. I have also heard good things about the Holly "Thunder" Kit. I believe HD2NV8 has installed it. I ordered one but ended up selling it to a buddy who was dying to S/C his F-150. He slowly been installing it over the past week and half. Taking his time. The times that I have been there he has had no real trouble installing it. We had to call there help line once or twice so far but they took us step by step through the problem. I think know adays with all the computers that run our trucks any S/C will be good. What do you want the power for. Speed or Towing???

You can get a supercharger but then your going to have to take off your Intake...i think. Thats what most people are saying to me about most sports cars but maybe trucks are different?

Anyways, if you going to get a supercharger, and dont want to hurt your engine at all, but actually help it, get a Procharger Supercharger from www.superchargersonline.com

Also, make sure you get the supercharger with an air to air intercooler (Procharger comes with one). they have been proven to work better and longer than air-water intercoolers

It cost just as much as your standard supercharger WITHOUT an intercooler, so its a pretty good bargain.

I think they make one for the 5.4L F-150 for less that 3500 not including install

You only have to remove your intake for certain types of blowers.

Root style blowers like the magnacharger replace the entire intake manifold with the blower apparatus. Centrifugal ~sp~ blowers are the snails that resemble turbos but mount to your accessory bracket or some other location in front of the engine.

They only require plumbing to route the air into the throttle body and possibly a throttle body upgrade. But with those style blowers, they do not require major modification to existing engine design.

Removing your valve covers, vaccum hoses, fuel lines, and intake manifold on this truck would not be something I think I would enjoy doing on a hot summer day. Perhaps best done in a nice cool garage over a weekend

Lightbulb supercharger

As of now I think I'll go with the Powerdyne#k10410-101,summits price is $2399.00.I don't want to take the intake off or tap the oil pan.I want to see if these 20" tires will turn over pointing straight.Rick PS.I'll soon be the owner of the V-Rod in Feb or Mar. Need the speed!!!!
