Lowering 2000 Hd
I have a BellTech 3/4 lowering kit installed on my 2000 HD Ford. I like the looks and the handling but not the ride itselfespecially on rough roads. I want either air or steel that will keep the truck low but drastically improve the ride. The truck is used mainly for passenger use, so am not concerned with weigh problems. I live in Vallejo, CA and would like any info who specializes in this type of work or any type of info would be appreciated.
HD2NV8- I had my lowered with the a kit that me and my installer designed. It just like the SO Cal speed shops kit just a couple minor changes. I think my ride is great. I have had no problems and think in every aspect it has improved. Are you complanning about the back end skipping on rough roads. Ever since lowering tthe truck it has resolved the problem for me.
LowRider HD2000-No the rear end does not slide. In fact the handling is very good. I realize it is not a passenger car, but with the set up I have now, the ride is "rough" on anything but a smooth street. Am looking to keep the "lowered" look, but a smoother ride.

Hmmm - thats strange. I'll talk to my installer and see what kind of things you can do to help resolve those problems. Mine doesn't seem to bad at all on rough roads. On really rough roads It starts to get a little rough. Our roads are in pretty good condition in Calgary.
Hows the Holly "Thunder" SC. I have one sitting in my garage and am planning on installing it soon as I get some spare time. Hows the acceleration? Any problems? Install yourself? If I decide not to install it I have a friend thats going to buy it from me, so I'm juggling the decision to install or sell.

LowRiderHD2000-I think the Holley SC is fantastic. Checked out several other cheaper brands, but settled on Holley. Had a shop in San Jose install it for me. Since this model is fairly new, they had some problems with the installation, but I have put over 4000 miles since it was installed and no problems. The real power seems to be in the high end. Went to Arizona and cruised at approx 95mph in the desert area and tached only around 2300 RPM-smooth as silk.
Big disadvantage is premium fuel and approx 11 mpg, but feel it is worth it.

I'm also waiting on a call about your lowering. I'll find out what he has to say.
