Angry Web site Slowdown????

Is it just me, or is everyone having problems with the new software?
As an experiment, I backed out of the site and went to my bookmark page:
Time to log into home page.....30 secs.
Time to get to BBS...........1:15
Time to get to HD BBS..........45 secs
Time to open this thread.......30 secs

This is on an 800 mhz, Gen II Pentium with 256K RAM, direct link to the web via municipal website.

I thought it was my home machine, a 200 mhz Gen I with 128K, on a 56K modem at the end of a L-O-O-O-O-N-G dirt road. In the office, not much better.

Herr WebMeister, any ideas? This just started after the new install last weekend..Rube

for a day and a half last week it was excruciatingly slow for me too. Just this site. It's ripping right along now though. I'm on a 56k modem to hooked up at 50k right now. Don't know what caused the problem but at least it was temporary. I'm running IE 5.5 on MS ME right now, P166 old machine at home as the internet box.

Guten Tag PhillyRube (have to stay in character, you know),

Am I safe to assume that you are using Netscape 4.x? If that is the case, the answer to your question is probably right in this thread...(probably the last post I made)
