3rd Light Install
I'm trying to remember as best I can.
The light is held by 2 screws and a plug that is under the interior roof liner
1) took out the 2 screws from the original light.
...I have the sliding rear window so the next part was pretty easy for me.
2) Opened the rear window reached in to the cab and undid two of the "buttons" holding the roof liner on.
3) Reached in the cab and under the roof liner to unplugged the old light--if I recall it has a safety snap connector so I had to use two hands and some physical gymnastics--You'll have to remove more roof liner "buttons" if you can't reach in through the rear window.
4) Removed the old light and threaded the new lights plug through the opening and then managed to connect the two plugs--much easier than unplugging the old light.
Note: ONce screwed in the the new light is a little lower than the original and may not line up perfectly with the horzontal line of the plastic rear window trim (it doesn't on all the Lightnings either). Most people won't notice it; but I did....I attached two pieces of plastic in strategic places inside the light to get it to lift from the bottom and line up perfectly. If I had to do it over, I'd just screw it in and and leave it--Just don't torque those screws too much (heh).
Good Luck
