Question Lightning Lights!

I saw on Karkraft.com where the L tails, heads, and corners all total were like $800. Is this right? Seems awful high! I was thinking of getting them but I'm not spending that much on a different set of lights. I like the way my headlight covers look on the front, uhhh I wonder if I would look stupid by putting just the tails on and keeping the headlight covers? Any suggestions?

I know $289 is extremely high just for tails. Have you seen an all clear tail(no red) that will fit the HD? I have the clear corners and I would like an all clear tail, that should look pretty sweet.

LQQK up MrTailLight.com and then give him a call, best price in town on 2001 L SVT lights around. I hear he has 4 and 6 piece kits that could ship today and be in your F 150 within a few more days! I hope this helps, need a phone #, email Boo @ Ashlockboo@aol.com. Thumbs up for MrTailLight!

Got mine through ford. Took over 6 weeks. Look awsome. Plus they are DOT approved.

Got tails through Ford dealer for $40.12 each. I've kept headlight covers on and judging by the stares I think most folks would agree with me that it looks evil. Highlights that wide chrome smile. Children run in fear, and the others just stare with envy. Life is good!

LOW: how much in Cnd$--not interested in scaring children but the rears sure look good. And they gotta be legal if they're on the 01 L's. When you gonna give us some happy snaps with the lowering and the clears? We need to see this

Question

So Devilguy, you got the tails for JUST $40? That wouldn't be to bad! Did you keep your regular headlights and keep the covers over them or what? I think that would look pretty sweet but not sure what everybody else would think. Seems like if you got the tails though that you should go ahead and get the 4 or 6 piece kit!?!?

Ford had a large price increase in the beginning of May on all Lightning lamps so I was told from the place I ordered mine from. I have sourced mine from fordpartsonline.com - [good service as well] some at the old prices (from old stock) and some at the increased prices .... shipped via UPS (I will be bringing mine back in my luggage to OZ!)

They still may have a few lamps at old price( rh tail lamps, lh head lamps, lh marker lamp.

Parts nos. and prices below:

Part# 1 reference;13404/13405 tail lamps
List Price:$40.12/$161.67 Price:$151.34 pair [RHS is at old price and LHSis at new price]

Part# 2 reference;13008 head lamps
List Price:$112.12/$191.67 Your Price:$227.94 pair

Part# 3 reference;13200/1 marker lamps
List Price:$57.20/$113.33 Your Price:$127.90 pair [LHS is at old price and RHS is at new price]

So at the new prices for everything you could be paying about $933.33 plus state tax if applicable plus UPS charges for all lights to be changed over and not $800 for just the tails.

Send enqiries to parts@fordpartsonline.com... they were extremely helpful.

Take care

I picked up a set of Lightning headlights and turn signals on eBay thru Mr. Taillight. With shipping cost $270.00...OEM. Product came double wrapped in plastic, bubblewrap, and drowned in styrofoam peanuts.
Gonna work on them today.....

Harleyboy, I kept stock headlights and keep GTS headlight covers over them. I don't think the clears make all that big of a difference. Overhead rear isn't really that much of a big deal to me either. Just doesn't seem worth the extra cash to me. Rather spend it on sway bars or lowering kit or something along those lines. Prefer to keep mine mostly stock without too much modification. Except of course for some upgrading in the tunes department. Who really cares what anyone else thinks?? If you dig it, then that's all that should matter. There will always be someone out there who will think that they have the better ride or that somehting you did sucked. F them. It's all about you....Peace

Ain't that the truth, DEVILGUY? Thank goodness we all do our customizing differently and all have different thoughts on what looks the best. Be pretty darn boring otherwise!

I just paid $400 for the 01 L headlamps, corners, tails, and 3rd brake light. Already have the tails; only wanted the brake light, but the gentleman didn't want to break up the set. Right now my intentions are to use only the brake light. If someone needs/wants the others email me. HarleyGuy, how'd you get your pic under your name?

Gene

Cool

Hi Gene,

To install the avatar by your name, go to the profile area and then to the Edit Options. At the bottom of that area, you will see the Avatar option and you can then add it to your name.

The problem you might have is that that the picture (avatar) must be 50X50 pixels or less and you will have to take your photo and modify down to that size. I messed around for a bit before it would work.

It's an Avatar

baddgene

Go to the User CP above and look at the options section. At the bottom you'll find a place to set your "avatar". That's the little picture below the name.

It has to be no larger than 50x50 pixels, pretty small......
