Steel Breez, for insurance, traditionally, Progressive gives good rates. I'm getting a better rate with USAA. Might have to be affiliated with the military to get them, but they are cheap as hell for me. As for the bike, I went more with style and uniqueness over pure performance. That said, most bikes nowadays are really good, and like JaxHarley said, it depends more on the rider. Incidently, I went out yesterday with about 10 other Jap bikes Ninjas, R600, and Suzukes, and a VFR. The Trumpet can deal with them all. The kicker is, all the other riders, and the lookers on, couldn't stop from checking out my baby. It's a no brainer dude! And BTW, since it is a Brit bike, that alone may save you on insurance. Pics of my bike at photos.yahoo.com/ulmergeddon

Good luck!

Yea..because I want to race a busa to 200mph *rolls eyes

In the 1/4 mile its dead even. Rider skill makes the difference..not the bike.

not to mention the busa has been recalled what...2 times now for major defects? and it looks like a turd

All those fast bikes are nice. Everyone can own one. You see them all over, Harley's are the same way these days. I've gone back to restoring classics. I never see another Trophy, Dream, or even SOHC 750 on the road. And when I finish changing my old flat tracker over to street use, that will be another unique bike (and tons of fun).

Oh dont get me wrong..I love looking at classics..and harleys. Hell thats why I bought the truck.

However I have an accelleration/speed fetish and frankly..harleys dont do it for me in that department.

Now dont get mad at me for saying this..Im sure there are plenty of fast cruisers around...but on the average..sportbikes rule that department hands down.

Ya i would have to say I'm also into the crotch rockets also. Can't get enough of the speed of those damn things. A lot of people will disagree but being 19 I would have to say the sport bikes look way better and are a lot better to drive. Only cause of speed.

Yeah, but for some reason the women like the "rumble" of a Harley between their legs as opposed to the screaming of a Jap. I have and love both. But there are times to go fast, and then there are times to just CRUISE. And Cruisin' is what Harleys are for.

Amen to that, BlownHarleyFord, and sometimes the guy controlling the scoot likes that cruisin' feeling as well.

Cool

Look what happened, this turned into a bike thread.
But my HDF150 dia cast sure looks good with the 1/18 scale MH900E and red 900m.
Almost as good as my real HDF150 looks with my 95 Ducati Monster in the bed.
As for ZX12's,Busa's,R1's ect....
I love the roll on power from 70-100 of my duc,it's a defferent type of power.
Truth is I'm over chasing the latest and greatest sportbike,I found what I like and I'm staying with it...
And except for the XR 750 or maybe the VR1000 Harley does'nt offer a product I want to RIDE,now a first year FATBOY....

Only if they dont get it in the bedroom

hehehehe...sorry..that was too easy <big grin>

15.5k rpm isnt half bad....makes your nuts feel like jelly after a few hours of riding however.
