Subwoofer/Speaker mods
Ok..since the JL Stealthbox will not fit under a 2000 F150 seat <including HD edition> has anyone found anything that will? Or is a custom built box the only way to go?
I cant believe that noone makes a speaker box for any 2000+ F150 Ex cab.

Sorry Rogersbw, I can't help you with the box question, but I have a question along the same line. I just want to replace my stock speakers with something that sounds better. I don't want to change my stock radio and cd-changer. Can anyone help a stereo newbie? Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hey Gang
I just installed a Q Logic sub made just to fit the 2000 F-150 and yes it fits nicely in my Harley Edition. It holds one 10" sub. I chose to go with a Kicker brand speaker. The box fits under the large portion of your back seat and looks like it belongs there. Made of black plastic or fiberglass and carpeted on the top that rests against your seat bottom. The sub fires down and it has no ports. The only bad thing I have to say about it is you have to put slight pressure on the seat to get it to lock but I think I can adjust that by shaving the feet just a hair. As for the stock speaker replacement question what I did was throw a set of 4 5x7 Polk Audio speakers in. These are just temporary til I put my mids in. They sounded fine on the stock system till I replaced it with all Alpine gear which included a 6 disk player, an single in dash disk player, an EQ sits behind the cup holder and two amps mounted under the rear small seat. one on the floor and one mounted to the bottom of the seat. I also am in the process of having tweeters molded into a new set of window pillar trims that I got. The web address for Q Logic is at http://www.airesearch.com and just look up their name. The box itself ran me $200 without the speaker thru my installer. Just some ideas for those who like alittle volume in their lives.

Hey Gang
Something else you might want to try. My installer ordered me a set of Q Form kickpanels. Each one holds one mid and one tweeter and matches the interior. Check em out at the address above in my last post on this topic or buzz your local installer. They are not listed at the site for some strange reason. They only list to 1996 but the are in the shop and ready to go so they have them. I'll let ya know how they sound after they go in.

Hey Gang
I had those kickpanels installed and what a difference they make. They really helped bring the sound back to the center of the cab. I think it was a great addition to my system. If your looking to add sound without having to add volume this is the way too go.

Hey guys, new to the board. I did not even know that this board existed nor that it have a Harley forum. This is great! BTW, I have a custom box built with the seat bolted to the top. It houses four Polk Momo 10's. I have 4 Momo 6.5 inch seperates and tweeters with 2 Phoenix gold pro series amps. Everything in the truck looks stock. All of the seperates are hidden inside the doors behind the speaker grills. The idea was to keep the truck looking completely stock. It sounds like a live concert.
How on earth did you get enough airspace for 4 10" speakers?

I had the seat brackets removed and added two inches of hieght to the box. The back seat sits alittle higher now, which I think is perfect because before it sat too low. The Momo's do not require alot of airspace to ****ion. They do however need alot of power to push them. They take 400 RMS and 800 MAX power. The sound quality is unbelieveable. You guys should here this thing!

If your interested I have my first box sitting in the garage that houses two tens. It was also custom made and fits directly under the seat and is cut perfectly allowing the seat brackets to fit inside the box. I had it covered in very high quality vinyl. And it has the Harley logo imprented in the middle of the box. It is very, very nicely done.
